James Uhlinger (Jefferson CC)SS / 2B / Carthage , NY / 2017Uhllinger stood out in a series where both teams were putting up a lot of runs. Going 5-8 with 3 doubles, 3 RBIs, 3 runs and 1 SB. He is a scrappy lead off hitter, and is best when he can drive the ball to right field. Coming out of the box, he bust down the line and is very aggressive and looks for opportunities to grab an extra bag in the right situations. Defensively has shown an above average glove and knocks down plenty of potential base hits. Knows his runners out of the box and does not rush himself when gathering to make throws.HItting .302 with 6 2B and 11 RBI.
|
Joseph Novenche (Herkimer CC)C / 3B / Shenendehowa, NY / 2018Noevenche is an active, hard-nosed player with a ton of tools. His arm is above average, he runs well for his position, uses a wide stance in the box, small leg lift for timing, short fluid load, barrel stays mostly level through contact. |
Zach Harter (Finger Lakes CC)1B / 3B / Rush-Henrietta, NY / 2017Athletic 6-foot-0 frame. Good day at the plate with three hits (2 doubles) and two RBIs. The left handed hitter showed plus approach, patient and a short compact swing with some pop to all fields. Harter also splits time in the OF, has the tools to gain attention from four year programs. Currently leading the team in hitting .421 with 6 2B, 2 HR and 20 RBI.
|
Omar Rosa (Finger Lakes CC)SS / OF / Fairport, NY / 2018A lean athletic 5-foot-10 frame. Rosa struggled at the plate. Rosa’s glove and athleticism will get him interest and attention from schools. High IQ and plus range. Has shown extra base potential on the year with 9 2B, 2 3B and a HR.

Low ¾ slot; works down and with good pace. FB works in the low to mid 80's. 2-0 with 3 saves on the mound; sporting a 3.43 ERA. Slick defender at 1B; hitting .317 with 7 2B, HR and 19 RBI.
|
Miles Kelly (Rockland CC)1B / Shoreham Wading River, NY / 2017Proportional build in the 6-foot-2 range; above average strike zone awareness. Spoils tough pitches and will find a way to beat you whether with a flare down the opposite foul line or booming extra-base hits to his pull side. Serviceable defender at 1B, presents large frame target. Presently hitting .338, 4 2B, 2 3B, 5 HR and 23 RBI.

Sophomore OF John Daly (Rockland CC / FDU Commit)
Compact, athletic frame. Another member of the Hawks with strong plate discipline. Spread setup; slightly open. Simple approach and uses all fields. Steady defender with average but accurate arm. Hitting .369 with 7 2B, 1 3B and 2 HR with 30 runs scored and 22 RBI on the year.
Sophomore 3B Chris Perich (Suffern HS / Rockland CC / Brockport St. Commit)
Compact, physical build with a spread, open setup at the dish. Hitting .432 in the three spot for Rockland. Uses the whole park; line drive approach with a high contact approach (6 BB, 10 K in 95 at-bats). Glove works well at 3B with lateral range; suitable arm, could project at 2B at the four year level but more than serviceable at 3B. Intense competitor.
Freshman RHP Kyle Eskilden (Monroe - Woodbury / Rockland CC / St. Thomas Aquinas Commit)
Full frame, power pitcher’s build. Repeats delivery, works downhill with hard breaking ball. FB works in the mid to upper 80's with some down angle. Overall numbers don't indicate the type of arm he will eventually become. 2-2 on the year with 24 K's over 20 1/3 IP.
Sophomore CF William Newcomb (Colonie HS / Fulton-Montgomery CC)
Newcomb had a very impressive two game series worth of ABs against Jefferson CC this week. He was a consistent piece in the lineup for the Raiders. Going 4-6 with a double, 3 RBIs, 4 runs, and 1 BB from the left side of the plate, Newcomb is very old school. He has an inside out swing and continuously fights off pitches to work the pitcher deep into the count. He doesn’t chase many bad pitches and showed above average barrel control.
Freshman LHP Zach Kelley (Middleburg HS, FL / Jamestown CC)
Lean with a projectable frame from the left-side. Tempo during his delivery is well paced, belt high knee lift with slight front knee rotation towards second base. Arm-swing is clean, release point is high ¾, FB sat 79-81, peaking 82 with some arm-side tail. Off-speed was erratic at times but did show a slurve that would break under the right handed hitters hands.
Sophomore Chris McKibben (Corning HS / Corning CC)JUCO WIRE: Fr. LHP Zach Kelley (Jamestown CC) showed some projection from the left-side, especially early on.. Athletic and lean, fluid tempo to his delivery, FB peaked 82 mph (range 79-81) w/ more velocity to come.. #BeSeen #shapethestate #njcaa #jucobaseball pic.twitter.com/TaOTl4RSHk

Had a solid performance at the plate for the Red Barons in game one. His setup is pretty relaxed with a slight bat waggle, small stride on the pitch for timing, short compact barrel path with stays mostly level through contact. Uses all fields. Hitting .382 with 3 2B and 7 RBI over 20 games played.
Freshman 3B Roberto Aracena (Citi Christian Academy, FL / Jamestown CC)
Passes the eye test when you first see him, well built, athletic with easy fluid actions. Defensively he has a wide active base, glove stays out in front and soft, fast clean funnel with a strong arm across the diamond. In the box his bat is a separator. Really loose hands, relaxed shoulder width setup, his barrel consistently finds the ball with hard contact, power to all fields, a must follow and no doubt next-level prospect. Over 13 games Aracena is hitting .467 with 2 2B, 2 3B and 18 RBI with 12 runs scored.

Freshman OF Paul Tripi (Jamestown CC)
Hard-nosed, scrappy competitor that made this presence felt at the plate during the first game of the double header squaring up two baseballs. Loose hands in the box, mostly level, compact swing path, fluid bat-speed. Played CF during game 1, controlled the OF, moves athletically, made all the routine plays. Average arm.
Freshman RHP Tyler McDonnell (Yorktown Heights HS / Herkimer CC)
McDonnell made his first career start as a General and PBR NY was there to witness. He build is lean and wiry, a frame that can add more weight, works with pace throughout his delivery, longer arm-swing with a high ¾ slot release. FB was consistent at 80-82, CB 70-71 with a late 11/5 break. Presently 2-0 with 1 save. In 14 2/3 IP he's only allowed 6 H and 7 BB while striking out 18 to a tidy 1.84 ERA.

Freshman RHP Ethan Buckley (Bath-Haverling HS / Tompkins Cortland Community College)
A wiry 6-foot-0 frame. Repeatable delivery. Get his whole body involved with the wind up. Good command of the FB 77-79 MPH, peaked at 81 MPH. Loopy CB 59-63 MPH, and feel for a CH 67-69 MPH. The RHP kept FLCC off balanced. Pitches backwards. Good athlete. 3-2 on the year with 30 K over 30 1/3 IP, 23 hits allowed with a 3.86 ERA.
Freshman 3B Joseph Tummino (Homer HS / Tompkins Cortland Community College)
A projectable lean 6-foot-2 frame. The right handed hitter had a solid day at the plate. Showed some pop off plus pitching. Keeps it simple, short load and balanced. Defensively, made two great plays at 3B, both laying out. Good enough athlete to play the corner OF or corner INF at the next level. The bat will get him some interest. Currently hitting .475 with 8 doubles, 2 triples, a homerun and 19 RBI with 28 runs scored.
