Developed, physical frame with a strong build. 6-foot-2, 210-pounds. Offensively – Balanced, relaxed set-up in the box with some weight pre-shifted to his backside. Creates a forward move with a short, controlled leg lift before getting into stride. Hands stay relaxed near back shoulder. Swing stays compact and consistently works inside of the ball. Noticeable strength in wrists/hands. Barrel gets thru the zone quickly with high finish. Stays within lower half and shows adjustability in his actions. Defensively – In the OF, controlled defensive actions with quick feet. Short, choppy strides. Comes thru the ball aggressively. High ¾ arm action with above average strength. INF – Light on his feet with quick, athletic actions. Maintains body control while moving laterally. Keeps upper body stacked over glove hand with an athletic base while funneling the ball in. Hips stay low before rearranging feet with side shuffle. Quick, compact arm action with low ¾ slot. Pitching – Simple, repeatable delivery with steady tempo and aggressive finish. Stays tall and balanced at leg lift before getting into forward stride. Pushes off back leg but avoids collapsing too deep. Stride foot lands aligned with target. Uses glove tap for rhythm after hand break and creates slight tilt with shoulders. High ¾ release with same quick, short arm action. FB shows tough downward angle at times. SL has late, sharp cut action. CH comes out firm but shows hard, late sink at best.
6/27/16
Cooper is physically gifted Shortstop/RHP, standing 6-foot-2; weighing in at 210 pounds (10 pound increase from February). He ran a 7.34 60. Offensively- Hands shoulder height, great rhythm with bat tap on shoulder. Upright, open stance, long stride and powerful drive off back side. High finish, exit velocity: 89 MPH (up 3MPH since 2/2016). Defensively- Tall setup and quiet approach to ball. Uses great arm strength; 86 MPH across infield today (have seen up to 90 MPH) to make throws deep in the hole. Doesn’t rush to balls, stays smooth and uses strong build effectively. Pitching- Slight drop step off to the side of the rubber, smooth hand break and good extension to the plate. Stiff front side landing and on balance. FB sat 84-86 MPH with CB at 72-74 MPH.
2/28/16
Cooper works from an ideal pitchers build, 6-foot-2, 200-pounds with a strong, thick lower half. Pitching- He's turned the corner since we last saw him toe the rubber in the summer. He works from a slower tempo - smooth delivery, relatively short, clean arm action from an high-3/4 arm slot. Fastball has downward depth sitting 84-85 MPH, topping out at 86 MPH with quick hand speed. Curveball shows 11/5 shape sitting 70-72, change up, maybe a hair too fast, was 76-78. Highly impressive next-level arm to keep an eye on this spring. Offensively - Starts with an open stance, smooth back load on the pitch, hands are quick and strong with a fluid path to the ball. Barrel has some uphill tilt with good extension through contact. Exit velocity was 86 MPH from a tee with clear signs of more power in the tank. Defensively - Works from SS but might shift to the corner down the road, big-arm (90 mph) with active feet and a quick release. Fun player to watch this spring season.

Athletically framed at 6-foot-1, 185-pounds. Defensively- Glove is open out in front, clean hands on transfer into throwing, has potential for range with improvement on lateral movement to the ball. Arm slot is versatile and shows great accuracy to the target.Offensively- At the plate displays an open stance that is relaxed and balanced, back load is smooth and stride is short to the pitch. Bat plane is level through the hitting zone and with a mid-high finish. Solid hitter with great projection.
2/15/15
Cooper stands 6-foot-1, 185-pounds with an athletic build. Pitching- He shows a relaxed setup on the mound, hands start middle. Smooth delivery, knee lift to his belt. He drops on his back leg as he powers towards home, hip stays closed. Arm action is down and back but clean, throws from a mid-3/4 slot. Fastball sits 80-81 mph with late life. Curveball sat 71. Finish is more upright and needs to work on getting out over his front side. Projectable arm to keep an eye on. Offensively- At the plate he starts relaxed, drops his hands, level bat speed through the zone, some extension, quick finish shoulder high. Defensively- From the SS he ran a 7.57 60 yard dash.
