On Deck Preview: Eastern NY All-Star Games - Middle Infielders

September has arrived, which means one thing...our first fall event of 2017 is right around the corner. Our Eastern New York All-Star Games at Marist College will be held Sunday September 17, 2017 featuring 68 players split into 4 teams. Today we look at the middle infielders  that will be in attendance and what to expect:

Michael DeStefano SS / 2B / Liverpool, NY / 2019

Future Games attendee; easy left side stroke. Can handle multiple spots on the infield.

 

 

 

Evan Jones SS / RHP / Shenendehowa, NY / 2019

Lean 5-foot-11 145 pound frame. Middle of the field line drive stroke. Steady defender with clean exchange and steady arm. Will also pitch (Up to 79 MPH this summer).

 

 

 

Matthew Panker 2B / SS / Iona Prep, NY / 2019

Slight 5-foot-8 frame with some offensive punch; solid, fundamental defender. Looking forward to seeing his progression.

 

 

Trey Cruz 2B / 3B / North Rockland, NY / 2019

First time attendee; 6-foot-1 165 pound frame.

 

 

 

Philip Zollo SS / RHP / Westhill , NY / 2019

Wiry strong at 5-foot-11 165 pounds, above average arm at 84 MPH across the diamond with superb foot speed at 6.78 in the 60.

 

 

 

Jacob Wheeler OF / 2B / Liverpool , NY / 2019

Athletic 5-foot-7 150 pounds, can sperad around the line drives. Aggressive approach in the outfield with quick release; accurate arm.

 

 

 

Eric Yost SS / RHP / Fordham Prep, NY / 2020

Smooth stroke from the right side; active defender, works hands out in front. 2020 grad to keep a watch on.

 

 

 

John Egnaczyk SS / RHP / Fayetteville Manlius, NY / 2019

First time attendee at 5-foot-9 165 pounds, plays for Syracuse Sportzone.

 

 

 

Stephen Santarpia SS / RHP / New Rochelle, NY / 2019

Athletic 5-foot-11 170 pounds; sprays the middle of the field with line drives. Active approach to and through the ball.

 

 

 

Pierce Hendershot 2B / 3B / Tioga Central, NY / 2019

Future Games attendee; gets the most out of his 5-foot-11 160 pound frame. Has flashed pull-side gap pop this summer with an arm up to 85 MPH across the infield.

 

 

 

Angelo Bartziokas RHP / SS / Minisink Valley, NY / 2021

First time attendee, older brother Ross was slick defender and also past PBR attendee.

 

 

 

Alex Zielinski RHP / 2B / Shenendehowa, NY / 2020

5-foot-11 150 pound frame with a balanced, line drive approach. Clean glove/adequate transfer for the young middle infielder.

 

 

 

Christian Ott SS / 2B / Kingston , NY / 2019

First time attendee from a strong HS program. Listed at 6-foot-1 170 pounds.

 

 

 

Kyle Gordon SS / 3B / Xaverian, NY / 2019

Another first time attendee from a perennial power in the NYC area. Checks in at 6-foot-0 160 pounds. Past measurable numbers recorded: 83 MPH exit velocity and 79 MPH across the diamond.
