WNY Senior Day (October 21, 2018)
Strong, athletic 5-foot-6 160 pounds. Offensively- Starts in a even, spread stance using a slight toe-tap for timing . Weight is pre-loaded over back side with minimal pre-pitch movement within the hands; balanced stroke with aggressive lower half. Swing path repeats; solid contact with a high finish. Defensively- Aggressive approach; stays behind the ball fielding outside lead leg on the ground. Clean exchange with some carry. Showed improved arm from recent past events. 
WNY ASG (September 23, 2018)
Athletic frame at 5-foot-6, 160-pounds. Ran a 7.30 60 yard dash. Offensively – Balanced, athletic set-up with weight pre-shifted onto backside. Uses a low, controlled forward stride to create separation. Hands stay back and allow lower half to create power/torque. Barrel stays level thru the zone. Hands show noticeable quickness. Loose, athletic hitting actions with a high finish. Exit velocity was 78 MPH. Defensively – Quick, active feet in the OF. Attacks ball aggressive. Quick exchange while getting into throws. Quick, clean arm action from ¾ slot. Uses a side shuffle to create momentum on throws. Arm strength was 77 MPH.
Bard College / Scout Weekend (July 20, 2018)
Wiry, athletic 5-foot-6 160 pound RHH who works the ball around the field. Short, compact stroke from a open setup. Accurate arm that stays on a line at 78 MPH from the OF. Scrappy, grinder type at-bats; never an easy out and plays the game hard. Also has shown serviceable abilities as a middle infielder. 
Niagara University (July 3, 2018)

No stranger to our system and a very hard nosed player from CNY. At the plate, open stance, compact path, mostly level through the zone, consistent contact, top of the lineup type hitter, control with the barrel. 81 MPH exit velo. Defensively, stays behind the ball, athletic movements, carry on his throws from a high 3/4 slot at 78 MPH

Small build to his frame, Lean and athletic. Arm strength from the OF was 76 mph but shows accuracy and carry, quick release on throws. Balanced stance to his setup in the box, smooth stride and load. Uses lower half well to generate bat-speed (83 off a tee), quick hands, high hands, finishes high. Aggresive player to keep a close  eye on. 
Preseason-East (Feb. 22, 2018)

Stands 5-foot-7, 160-pounds from an athletic smaller build, ran a 4.22 home-to-first time showing off above average quickness out of the box. Offensively- At the plate his setup is wide and open, strides back to even on the pitch with a loose repeatable barrel plane, slightly inclined with full extension, 81 mph exit velocity with signs of more to come. Defensively- very active and quick to the ball, clean glove-to-ball transfer, throws from a high 3/4 slot with a quick release, 82 mph which is significantly up since Sept.
ENY All-Star Games (September 17, 2017)
Wheeler stands in at 5-foot-7, 150-pounds with a lean athletic frame. Offensively- Righty sets up square to the pitcher with his feet wide outside his shoulders. Shows a slight knee bend with an upright torso. Holds the bat above the back shoulder using little pre-pitch bat movement. On pitch, his trigger is a knee raise bringing the leg in the body before a step forward while his hands move back slightly into his hitting position. Quick hands to the hitting zone with a level barrel path throughout into a high two-handed finish. Utilizes good lower body rotation getting whole frame involved in swing. Demonstrated line drive ability making solid contact during batting practice rounds. Recorded an exit velocity of 81 MPH, up 2 MPH from a previous mark of 79 set in February 2017. Defensively- In the outfield, shows good footwork and approach getting underneath the baseball. Fluid crow hop mechanics gaining ground on the throw. Shows a proper outfielder arm swing and was accurate with throws. Recorded a positional arm velocity of 75 MPH, 1 MPH shy of his 76 MPH mark recorded in August 2017. In the infield, Good approach and footwork getting to the baseball. Shows good fielding mechanics funneling the ball into the chest with a quick transition to the throwing position. Takes aggressive steps towards intended throwing target and was accurate with throws. Moves well left/right and in on the run. Recorded a positional arm velocity as an infielder of 68 MPH.
Campus Series-Oswego (August 15, 2017)

Wheeler stands 5-foot-7, 150-pounds with signs of durable size from a smaller frame. Offensively- Slightly closed stance, Toe tap back for timing, strides even. Strong and quick to the ball, uses all fields, hard contact with full extension through contact. Exit velocity peaked at 78 MPH. Defensively- Active form the OF, fluid actions to the ball, uses a clean arm-action with carry to the bag, 76 MPH arm-strength.
Campus Series-Canisius (July 5, 2017)
Wheeler stands in at 5-foot-7, 155-pounds with a lean athletic frame. Ran a 4.90 home to first. Offensively- Sets up square to the pitcher with his feet just outside shoulder width. Shows a slight knee bend with an upright torso holding the bat just above the back shoulder using little pre-pitch bat movement. On pitch, his trigger is a quick stride forward while his hands move back into his hitting position. Good lower body rotation clearing hips but could be more aggressive with the rotation of his back knee and foot. Will help generate more torque. Shows quick hands to the hitting zone with a level barrel path throughout into a high two-handed finish. Demonstrated good plate coverage and line drive ability up the middle and to the pull side. Recorded an exit velocity of 79 MPH, tying the same mark recorded in February 2017. Defensively- Good approach and footwork to get underneath baseball. Clean crow hop mechanics gaining ground throughout the process of the movement to set up in a good throwing position. Shows a good outfielder arm swing with accurate throws. Will get better as more strength develops. Recorded a positional arm velocity of 75 MPH.
Preseason All-State (February 20, 2017)
Wheeler stands in at 5-foot-6, 145-pounds with a lean athletic frame. Ran a 7.31 – 60. Offensively- Righty sets up square to the pitcher in a wide stance with his feet outside his shoulders. Shows a slight knee bend with an upright torso holding his hands in front of his back shoulder using little pre-pitch bat movement prior to delivery. On pitch his trigger is a quiet step in to stride out while his hands move slightly back into his hitting position. Has quick hands to the hitting zone with a level barrel path throughout into a high two handed finish. Uses efficient lower body rotation getting whole frame involved in swing clearing the hips through. During his rounds, was consistent hitting the ball up the middle and pull side; repeatable and balanced efforts. Recorded an exit velocity of 79 MPH. Defensively- Showed good footwork getting to the baseball. Efficient crow hop mechanics gaining ground throughout the throw toward his intended target. Has proper arm swing and release point for an outfielder and was consistent and accurate getting the throws into to home plate. Recorded a positional arm velocity of 75 MPH. Solid, all-around fundamental player.
