As the staff at PBR-New York is ready to embark on 2022, let's take a look at players that are ready to make that next jump during this year's Preseason All-State Tour.

PRESEASON ALL STATE - MOHAWK VALLEY

Zowen Collins 1B / LHP / Cobleskill, NY / 2023

What to expect: Compact actions in the box with a top hand dominated swing that shoots through the ball well, especially to the opposite field. Easy hands at 1B, that react well to the side/top spun hits. Repeatable mechanics down the mound with ease in the release. 
What we'd like to see: Increased feel for actions in the box and on the mound. If the arm speed and feel can be boosted, the velocity and stuff will make a good jump, leading to Collins seeing more success.

Michael Gage OF / RHP / Mohonasen , NY / 2023

Rankings  StateRank: 218 / POS: 35

What to expect: Exceptional mover who makes good use of his frame. Smooth, low effort actions to the baseball that lead to good bat to ball skills. Good actions to the ball and momentum through the throw. A short snappy arm action and repeatable mechanics from a good balance point.
What we'd like to see: A swing with intent and power to the pull side with increased strength. Possibly a slightly longer arm action that is efficient for his frame to help pump up the outfield and pitching velos.

Aidan Heffner SS / OF / Lasalle Institute , NY / 2023

Rankings  StateRank: 46 / POS: 12

What to expect: Extremely physical athlete with big upside in power. A slight uphill swing that induces hard hit ball after hard hit ball. Natural feet that lead to easy movements up the middle and in the hole. Clean, silky transfers with a long arm action from multiple slots.
What we'd like to see: Simply, added strength paired with athleticism that lead to an increase in measurables.

Carter King C / SS / Cicero North Syracuse, NY / 2024

Rankings  StateRank: 82 / POS: 15

What to expect: Fundamental, athletic build with good bat to ball skills. Quick feet out of the crouch and a high transfer to the ear to aid in quicker release. Accurate throws to the bag. 
What we'd like to see: Increased strength with quicker arm speed from the crouch. Better velocity out of the crouch would lead to lower pop times. King is looking to jump onto scene this preseason and posting big numbers will certainly do that, as he already works off a strong base.
