As we kick off our Preseason All-State tour this weekend, we highlight some returning players that we are excited to see the results from an off season of training.
2020 Preseason All-State - Hudson Valley
Frankie DeMaro SS / RHP / John S Burke Catholic , NY / 2021Rankings StateRank: 80 / POS: 12
The 2021 dual player had a good showing at the 2019 Fall Top Prospect Games. At the plate, the right handed hitter stands in the box in a tall stance. Quick direct path to the baseball. Frankie gets full extension after the point of contact and stays balanced throughout the swing. Defensively, displayed active footwork. Smooth funnel actions and quick release from a high ¾ arm slot. On the mound, the right handed pitcher displayed a repeatable delivery. Impressive outing during live game actions. Delivery has tempo and comes right at you. Plus FB command down in the zone which peaked at 82 MPH. CB has sharp late break and ranged from 72-74 MPH. The 2021 graduate is a must follow. |

Jeremiah Vega 2B / RHP / John Jay - East Fishkill, NY / 2022Rankings StateRank: 21 / POS: 1
Impressive performance for the 2022 dual player. In the box, Vega stands in the box in a tall stance with feet shoulder width apart. Takes a short stride towards the pitcher before attacking the hitting zone. Displayed hard consistent contact to the pull side during batting practice. Defensively, Vega worked at SS. Vega moves well laterally. Above average exchange to a quick release from a mid ¾ arm slot. Impressive arm strength with 84 MPH across the diamond. On the mound, Vega displayed a repeatable delivery and projectable arm. Plus command of a two pitch mix. CB is sharp with late downward actions in the zone. Vega is a projectable player and is a must follow as he continues to develop. |
Jacob Yager 1B / RHP / Tri-Valley, NY / 2021Rankings StateRank: 64 / POS: 6
A physical projectable frame at 6-foot-2, 200 pounds. Offensively- Stands in the box with a slightly open stance. Uses a leg lift and a stride before attacking the baseball. Direct path to the baseball with a slight lift at the point of contact. Showed hard consistent contact especially to the middle of the field. Top exit velocity 94 MPH. Defensively- Gets in a wide stance when fielding the baseball. Shows above average funnel action. Exchange to a quick ¾ release on throws across the diamond. Top throwing velocity 78 MPH. Pitching- Displayed a projectable live arm. Balanced throughout his repeatable delivery. Drives downhill from a high knee lift. Low effort down the mound. Showed FB command that peaked at 82 MPH. CB has a tight early spin and ranged from 67-70 MPH. Shows feel for a CH at 68-70 MPH. |

Has an athletic build at 5-foot-9,160 pounds. Ran a 7.09 in the 60 yard dash. Offensively- The right handed hitter stands in the box in a tall stance. Takes a short stride towards the pitcher. Short quiet load actions. Short compact swing. Displayed consistent line drives to the middle part of the field. Stays balanced throughout his swing. Finishes with a two hand follow through. The top exit velocity was 91 MPH. Defensively- Gets in a low wide base when fielding the baseball. Sits back on the ball. Moves well side to side. Shows above average funnel actions. Throws the baseball from a mid ¾ arm slot. Top throwing velocity across the diamond was 74 MPH. The 2022 graduate has a bat that you want to follow going forward. |

Keeps the front side closed. A high knee lift . Arm is loose and live and throws from a high ¾ arm slot. Showed good FB command peaking at 84 MPH. FB ranged from 81-83 MPH. Showed feel for a CH at 73-74 MPH. The 2022 graduate is a must follow.
