Physical: Compact, twitchy 5-foot-8, 175lb frame with efficient actions and a two-way skillset. The STAC commit ran a 7.26 60-yard dash.

Offensively: RHH - Balanced, even stance with the knees slightly bent as the hands operated calmly out over the plate. Utilized a short lift and replace stride on-time with a stretched load backwards, producing lots of whip through a slightly uphill path into the hitting zone. Blocked off properly, showing quick hip turns and a mostly pull-side approach with above-average bat-speed generating juice when lifting in the air. Posted a T95 mph bat-exit velocity (via Trackman) en route to a 38% line drive rate, 50% hard hit rate during a standout batting practice round. Easy middle of the order/top of the order considerations with feel to hit for extra-bases; good top hand control and a near 340 foot batted ball distance at his peak.

Defensively: The primary middle infielder controlled the pace during defense, getting to a low, wide position at the fielding window and keeping the chest down over toes for momentum. Fielded cleanly and softly, absorbing back into the waist line for the exchange and released from an accurate H ¾ slot with some carry (83 mph arm).

Pitching: RHP - The righty began off the left side of the rubber working at a quicker pace in the delivery. Got to a balanced, medium stack position before hand break, showing the ball to the second base back then getting through a fluid, H ¾ slot on the front-side. Good timing and lower half rotation into footstrike, repeating well. The FB landed from 82-85 mph with low spin and heavy action at the knees. Mixed a quality two-plane 67-69 mph CB with leveraged feel and late depth on its descent into the zone.

Physical: 5-foot-8, 165 pounds; lean, compact, athletic frame. 7.06 runner in the 60.
Offensively: RHH. Tall stance with a wide base and some bend in the knees; hands load back along with a small stride. Aggressive with line drive swing, quick hands and swing stays on one plane.  Hard contact to the pull side; peak Trackman exit velocity of 93 MPH.
Defensively: Starts upright and walks into ready position; Controlled footwork on approach, moves well laterally. smooth hands, clean transfers; medium arm swing with a 3/4 arm slot.   INF - 86 MPH.
Pitching: Starts in the middle of the rubber, uptempo delivery, drives off his back leg and gets downhill. Fluid arm action, high 3/4 arm slot. FB: Peak velo of 84 MPH, while sitting 81-82 MPH. Shows some arm side life. CB: 71-72 MPH. 12-6 shape.  CH: 70-71 MPH. arm side fade.

2/15/20

Physical: 5-foot-8, 160-pounds. Athletic, strong frame.
Hit: RHH. Tall stance, high hands that start in front of chest that fire back along with a medium leg kick/stride as he enters hitting zone Upwards swing path, extension through the point of contact, high one-handed finish.
Power: 85 MPH raw exit velocity. Consistent hard contact to pull side, up the middle.
Defense: Fields the ball a little high, could work more ground up, moves well laterally, fields the ball with one hand, would like to see him field with both hands and bring ball up to stomach.
Arm: Medium arm swing, 3/4 slot, gets behind each through. INF - 84 MPH.

Pitching Delivery: Up tempo, high leg lift driving down and out to a repeatable, balanced finish.
Arm Action: short, quick arm action to a high 3/4 release.
FB: T80, 79-80 MPH. Arm side run.
CB: 68-70 MPH. 12-6 shape, sharp break.
CH: 72-73 MPH. Fastball arm speed with late down action.

9/21/19

Impressive performance for the 2022 dual player. In the box, Vega stands in the box in a tall stance with feet shoulder width apart. Takes a short stride towards the pitcher before attacking the hitting zone. Displayed hard consistent contact to the pull side during batting practice. Defensively, Vega worked at SS. Vega moves well laterally. Above average exchange to a quick release from a mid ¾ arm slot. Impressive arm strength with 84 MPH across the diamond. On the mound, Vega displayed a repeatable delivery and projectable arm. Plus command of a two pitch mix. CB is sharp with late downward actions in the zone. Vega is a projectable player and is a must follow as he continues to develop.
