Florida Summer Championships

The PBRT 16U Florida Summer Championships kicked off Thursday, July 7th at the Buck O'Neil Baseball Complex and IMG Academy with action from the 16U division. The event is four days long with champions decided on Sunday. Each day we will highlight standouts with a daily scout blog. Take a look at Day 1's notes.

Day 1 Scout Blog

Brady Blanks C / 3B / Dwyer, FL / 2025

6-foot-2, 175 pounds. Comfortable in box, gets swing off. Creates leverage with long limbs. Power potential.

 

Evan Bowling CF / Salem community, IN / 2024

Light athletic frame. Short to ball, quick hands. On time with a solid 2 strike approach. Ripped an RBI single to left.

 

NICO BROWN 3B / 2B / King, FL / 2025

Advanced physical frame, strength in lower half. Smooth rhythmic timing, compact swing with some loft.  Was on time and on barrel as he turned around a deep 3 RBI double to center.

 

Ethan Burkhardt 3B / RHP / A3 Academy, FL / 2024

5-foot-10, 190 pounds. Strong bodied 2-way. Comfortable in the box, works level with some juice. Pull-side power potential.

 

Noah Campbell LHP / Winter Springs, FL / 2025

6-foot-3, 195 pounds. Projectable southpaw competed in the zone with FB/SL mix. Clean 1st inning of work, some traffic later finishing with 6 K’s over 2.1 IP.

Anthony DeVito SS / 2B / Newsome, FL / 2025

Has an athletic frame and actions in setup and swing. Good lower half,  clears hips well and stays in the legs. Shows the ability to turn the barrel, compact swing that's on plane and on time. Was aggressive on basepaths. Athleticism seems to play up and moves well at short.

 

Clayton Evans C / 1B / Sebring, FL / 2024

6-foot, 185 pounds. Looks the part behind the plate, easy/fluid bat path. Effortless, comfortable, and controlled.

 

Brandon Falco RHP / RHP / Matawan Regional, NJ / 2024

Uncommitted. 6-foot, 185 pounds. Easy Fastball life sitting 86 mph with a lot of in zone misses, picking up 11 K’s. - 4 IP, 1 H, 0 BB, 0 R, 11 K’s

FB: 84-86 T87
SL: 73-74

Landon Green RHP / Northside Christian, FL / 2027

6-foot, 165 pounds. Athletic lean frame. Short quick arm action. Ball jumps out of the hand. Works downhill with extension. Competed in the zone. Sharp 11/5 CB. High follow. 1.1 IP, 2Ks.

CB: 73-75
CH: 79-81

Marc Hersh C / 3B / A3 Academy, FL / 2024

5-foot-11 178 pounds. Athletic backstop, strength in lower half, 6.9 runner. Finds barrels and flashed pullside power getting on plane.

 

Ethan Holliday 3B / Stillwater, OK / 2025

6-foot-3 185 pounds. A lot to like in the frame that projects, looks the part, can pick it in the INF. Natural feel for the barrel with presence in the box. No. 1 2025 Nationally.

Kolby Jarman LHP / LHP / West Johnston, NC / 2025

6-foot-3, 200 pound physical frame. Slower tempo delivery with long arm action. Velo jump to come as mechanics clean up. Showed feel for both BB. CB 12/6 action. SL more 10/4 with late action. A lot to like with the frame.

SL: 72-73

Ethan Jones SS / University (Orange City), FL / 2024

6-foot-1, 195 pounds. Athletic frame that projects. Compact stroke from the left side with bat speed.

 

Shane Lavin LHP / Spruce Creek, FL / 2024

5-foot-9, 175 pound athletic frame. Quick arm with repeatable delivery. FB with natural armside run. Loopy CB getting swings and misses. Filled up the zone with both offerings. Really like the tempo. Interesting follow

CB: 74-75

Justin Lewis OF / Palmetto Ridge, FL / 2025

Athletic, light frame. Short, fluid actions and on time. Lewis had an RBI 1B for the day.

 

Carson Martin RHP / Lakeland Christian School, FL / 2025

6-foot-2 180 pounds, it's a projectable frame with a compact arm action. Has shown downhill action on FB and feel for CB, CH and SL.

Blaine Rowland RHP / OF / Durant, FL / 2024

6-foot-2, 200 pounds. Has added strength to the frame, FB sat 88 for K’s with sharp action on breaking ball at times. 3 IP, 2 H, 0 R, 1 BB, 4K’s.

FB: 87-89 T90 (2317)
CB: 76-77 (2334)

Talan Watson C / 3B / Dunnellon , FL / 2024

Sturdy frame with strong lower half. Short, simple 2 strike approach. Adjustable barrel.
