Top Prospect

Ethan SarosiEthan Sarosi, Kennett HS (PA), Class of 2020, RHP/3B
Athletic 5-foot-11, 185-pound frame with proportional strength. Sarosi impressed as not only the top two-way prospect in attendance, but the top prospect on the day. The primary pitcher sat 82-83 from a high 3/4 arm slot with solid feel for three pitches. His curveball at 72-74 displayed consistent 11/5 shape and his changeup at 77-79 showed arm-side run with good sell. Sarosi also shined as a position player running a 7.02 60-yard dash while showcasing active feet and lateral range at third base with 83 mph arm strength across the diamond. The right-handed hitter flashed the top bat exit velocity of the day at 94 mph. Sarosi starts from an open stance and initiates his swing with a leg-hang stride. He displayed strong wrists and an explosive lower half in making consistent loud contact during a solid round of batting practice.

Additional Two-Way Prospects (in alphabetical order)

Kyle Krupa, Perkiomen Valley HS (PA), Class of 2021, SS/RHP
5-foot-9, 155-pound right-handed hitter starts from a square stance and initiates his swing with a lift-and-replace stride. Displayed balance throughout with a line drive approach and a feel for the barrel with a bat exit velocity of 82 mph. Defensively, would benefit from allowing his feet to be more active while playing through the baseball. Showcased 76 mph arm strength across the diamond and ran a 7.60 60-yard dash. On the mound, Krupa sat 75-77 out of a 3/4 arm slot with a quick arm stroke and some arm-side run to his fastball. Curveball at 63-65 showed tight 11/5 rotation while he is still developing a feel for his changeup at 61-68.

Alexander Nottingham, Conneaut Area HS (PA), Class of 2023, 1B/RHP
5-foot-10, 125-pound right-handed hitter starts from a slightly open stance and utilizes a lift-and-replace stride to initiate his swing. The young prospect showed a feel for the barrel with a line drive approach and a bat exit velocity of 74 mph. Showcased a soft glove hand and capable footwork around the bag at first base with accurate 78 mph arm strength across the diamond. On the mound the righty sat 63-67 out of a 3/4 arm slot with some arm-side run to his fastball. The lower arm slot leads to a curveball with 10/4 rotation at 53-58. Nottingham also flashed a developing changeup at 52-55.

Kyle Peters, Hazleton Area HS (PA), Class of 2023, SS/RHP
5-foot-8, 170-pound right-handed hitter starts from a slightly open stance and initiates his swing with a short, leg-hang stride. A high back elbow creates some length in the swing, but barrel awareness is present and a solid lower half allows for some present pull-side power. Peters registered an 81 mph bat exit velocity and ran a 7.84 60-yard dash. Projectable size and defensive actions will likely result in an eventual move to a corner infield position. Projects well on the mound where his fastball sat 74-76 from a high 3/4 arm slot. Curveball at 62/63 has 11/5 shape with two-plane action and has a chance to develop into an advanced secondary offering. Peters also flashed above average feel for his changeup with good arm-speed at 68-70.

Matt Wallace, Donegal HS (PA), Class of 2020, RHP/OF
5-foot-9, 165-pound primary pitcher sat 74-75 out of a high 3/4 arm slot. Repeats delivery well while staying directional with good sell on his changeup at 67-69. Displayed a curveball with 11/5 shape at 62-63 and a slider at 66-67 with shorter break. The right-handed hitter starts from a square stance and initiates his swing with a short, lift-and-replace stride. Showcased a direct swing path with a line drive approach and a feel for the barrel. Registered a bat exit velocity of 85 mph and ran a 7.06 60-yard dash. Showed athletic actions defensively while consistently playing through the baseball with 78 mph arm strength from the outfield.
