6/15/20

Physical: Powerful, well put together 6-foot, 180-pound frame with feel for his body. 7.63 runner in the 60-yard dash.

Offensively: RHH. Crouched, open stance with the hands starting low with rhythm at the shoulder. Utilized a leg-hang stride coupled with a slight backwards hand load and barrel tilt at the top of the load in order to initiate his swing. Short compact stroke through a slightly uphill path into the hitting zone. Advanced feel for a strong lower half that allows for well above-average hip shoulder rotation at launch. Crushed balls above the belt to the LCF gap with present lift and really got through extension well during batting practice. Recorded a 90 mph bat-exit velocity per Trackman Baseball while hitting into a stiff front side with adjustability.

Defensively: The shortstop featured a moderately low center of gravity with feel for his lower half while moving laterally. Got downhill through the baseball with adequate footwork fielding the ball off of his left foot with regularity. Demonstrated an accurate throwing arm across the diamond out of a high ¾ slot and made the play on the run from multiple arm angles. SS - 82 mph

Pitching: RHP - Legitimate mound presence with some pace in the delivery allowing the arm to play with life out of a high ¾ slot and a max of 2000 spin per Trackman Baseball on the fastball. Commanded 82-84 mph heaters in the zone and challenged hitters early in counts, mixed a 75-77 mph CB with 11/5 shape and 2173 spin. Countered with a 78-80 mph CH with quality deception in the arm speed and occasional fade to the arm side.
2/29/20

Physical: 5-foot-10, 180-pounds. Strong, athletic frame. 7.4 runner in the 60; 4.52 home-to-1B.
Offensively: RHH. Slightly crouched stance with an even base, bat rests on his back shoulder, hands work back on load along with a toe tap and a medium stride for timing Compact, short swing, repeatable actions, barrel is direct to the ball, good use of his lower half. Hard contact to his pull side. 83 MPH raw exit velocity.
Defensively: Controlled, consistent footwork on approach getting around the ball, lateral range. Short arm swing with a low 3/4 arm slot.  INF - 84 MPH.
Pitching: Works fast with leg lift to the waits and turn, strides across to a repeatable crossfire release and balanced follow through. Moderate arm action to a clean 3/4 release. FB: T82, 80-82 MPH. Commands with life into the zone. CB: 62-63 MPH. Sharp 12-6 break. SL: 68-70 MPH. CH: 73-74 MPH. Tight slurve action showing depth.

10/26/19

5-foot-9, 180-pound freshman sat 77-79 from a high 3/4 arm slot with a deliberate, repeatable delivery. Tends to load up on his curveball that sits 63-64 with 11/5 rotation. Slider at 69-72 has short, late break and is an above average offering. Changeup is thrown at near fastball arm speed at 72-73. The right-handed hitter starts from a square stance and initiates his swing with a leg hang stride. Displayed a lower half turn and creates back spin with regularity. Registered an 82 mph bat exit velocity and ran a 7.79 60-yard dash. Showcased confidence in his glove hand defensively while playing through the baseball with 77 mph arm strength across the diamond.

3/10/19

5-foot-8, 170-pound right-handed hitter begins with a square stance and utilizes a lift-and-replace stride to start his swing. Hit behind the baseball well creating backspin to all fields. Registered an 81 mph bat-exit velocity and recorded a 7.84 60-yard dash time. Demonstrated advanced footwork during defensive evaluations moving through the ball with momentum.  Notched a 79 mph arm-strength across the infield. Right-handed pitcher commanded three pitches in the zone for an impressive bullpen. The righty used a loose arm and repeatable delivery to sit 77-79 mph from a high 3/4 arm-slot with arm-side run. His 63-67 mph curveball flashed sharp sweeping action. Featured a 70-72 mph changeup that displayed sink while being thrown with good sell.

12/29/18

5-foot-8, 170-pound right-handed hitter starts from a slightly open stance and initiates his swing with a short, leg-hang stride. A high back elbow creates some length in the swing, but barrel awareness is present and a solid lower half allows for some present pull-side power. Peters registered an 81 mph bat exit velocity and ran a 7.84 60-yard dash. Projectable size and defensive actions will likely result in an eventual move to a corner infield position. Projects well on the mound where his fastball sat 74-76 from a high 3/4 arm slot. Curveball at 62/63 has 11/5 shape with two-plane action and has a chance to develop into an advanced secondary offering. Peters also flashed above average feel for his changeup with good arm-speed at 68-70.

4/04/18

5-foot-6, 160-pound right-handed hitter starts from a slightly open stance and initiates his swing with a leg-lift stride. Showcased balance throughout while staying behind the baseball. Showed solid feel for the barrel with a bat exit velocity of 74 mph. Ran an 8.45 60-yard dash and showed accurate 67 mph arm strength across the diamond defensively. Right-hander sat 71-73 off the mound from a 3/4 arm slot with repeatable mechanics. Curveball displayes short, slider break at 63-63 and changeup is thrown with good sell at 64-66.
