Less than two months remain until PBR Pennsylvania's Elite Prospect Showcase on November 7th at Keystone State Baseball Academy in Manheim. Today, in the sixth in a series of previews on prospects who will be in attendance, we highlight St. Marys Area 2017 catcher Michael Beimel.

A 5-foot-10, 170-pound switch-hitter, Beimal has flashed solid bat speed from both sides of the plate. He has good rhythm in his swing and gets extension through contact from the left side, while his path is a bit shorter from the right side. Defensively, Beimel is a solid receiver with good lateral agility on balls in the dirt. He has a quick transfer and has posted workout pop times in the 2.19-2.25 range. As a sophomore for the Flying Dutchmen, Beimel hit .305 as a full-time starter.
