Cedar Cliff 4, Red Land 2

Cedar Cliff rode the right arm of Youngstown State recruit Trey Law and timely hitting to down Red Land in early season Mid-Penn Commonwealth action at Red Land High School.

Law was in control for 5.2 innings allowing just two runs in the second inning while effectively changing speeds keeping Red Land's deep offensive lineup off balance most of the evening. He finished the night with six hits allowed while striking out seven. Louisville recruit Bobby Whalen picked up the save with 1.1 innings of hitless relief  that included a strikeout with the tying run at the plate in the bottom of the 7th inning.

Cedar Cliff catcher Donovon Ball, a Penn State wrestling recruit, who went 2-for-4. led the Colts' eight hit attack. Camden New and Chris Brandt each had an RBI.

Red Land LHP Luke Wagner was the loser, working five innings with 10 strikeouts while allowing just one earned run. Catcher Jared Payne, a Kentucky recruit, doubled off the left-center field fence for the Patriots lone extra-base hit on the evening. 2021 OF Benny Montgomery, a Virginia commit, went 2-for-3 with an RBI.

Cedar Cliff moved to 4-1 with the win and 1-0 in conference play, while Red Land fell to 4-1 (0-1).
