As the early signing period draws closer for the Class of 2018 a host of talented prospects across the state have yet to make an announcement on their college plans. Today we continue a look at some of the top uncommitted prospects in Pennsylvania with a look at some of the top outfielders still available in our PA Class of 2018 rankings

Nick O'Day

Nick O'Day OF / RHP / Bishop Shanahan, PA / 2018

5/8/17 6-foot, 185-pound two-way prospect displayed present power in his right-hand swing with a gap-to-gap approach. Advanced defender went and got everything in the outfield on this date from his center field position. Righty also sat 83-86 touching 87 at times from a high 3/4 arm slot with an overhead rocker delivery.  Max effort at times and struggled with command on this date with six walks in four innings (no hits allowed).  Curveball has tight 11/5 rotation with late biting action at 72-73 and changeup is thrown with intent at 71-72.

Tracy Carr OF / Dallastown Area, PA / 2018

2/12/17 Built like a wrestler, Carr's 5-foot-7, 165-pound frame belies his strength and tools. Right-handed hitter posted a 97 mph exit velocity and runs a 6.72 60-yard dash. Starts from an open stance and strides to slightly open. Flashed good bat speed, stayed inside the baseball, created backspin, and consistently barreled the baseball throughout his round of BP. Has consistently shown athletic defensive actions with accurate 82 mph arm strength.

Paul Zappala OF / 1B / Garnet Valley, PA / 2018

11/19/16 6-foot-3, 195-pounder showcased the top skill set of all prospects in attendance. The junior ran a 7.15 60-yard dash and displayed athletic defensive actions with 81 mph arm strength to home plate. The right-handed hitter starts from a slightly open stance and utilizes a short stride to initiate his swing from a high hands load. Zappala displayed good balance throughout his swing with above average barrel whip (87 mph) and some present power to the pull side. His hands work well through contact and hits off a stiff front side creating some backspin in the process.

Tyler Oedekoven OF / Cathedral Prep, PA / 2018

6/20/17 6-foot-1, 170-pound right-handed hitter and thrower. Oedekoven initiates swing from square set up utilizing reverse toe tap and short stride.  Quick loose hands are present.  There is very good feel for barrel as Oedekoven was able to square multiple balls in round of BP. There is swaying of hips with non aggressive hip turn. Mechanics lead to uphill swing path.  Hand speed, strength and overall athleticism resulted in 86 mph bat exit velocity. Defensively, reads and jumps are excellent with direct appropriate angles taken.  Oedekoven gets behind ball and catches it at it's height.  Weight transfer and throwing technique are solid on throws of 82 mph from OF.  Sixty speed of 6.78 plays up as a result of reads and angles taken. Talented two-sport athlete owns his school's record for most career receiving yards as a wide receiver while just playing a year and a half at Cathedral Prep.

Derek Wyld OF / 3B / Lower Dauphin, PA / 2018

6/14/17 6-foot-1, 170-pound left-handed hitter. Starts from an open stance and strides to square, incorporating a slow draw of hands during his load. Fairly loose swing with a bit of pop (89 mph exit velocity). Exhibited good posture and balance during game action, consistently putting quality swings on the baseball. Ran a 7.25 60-yard dash. Defensively, he showcased athletic actions, while posting 80 mph arm strength with solid carry on accurate 1-hop throws to the plate.

Dalton Miller OF / LHP / East Pennsboro, PA / 2018

4/11/16 5-foot-9, 155-pound outfielder impressed with short left-handed swing out of lead-off spot. Showed no difficulty in barreling upper 80s velocity with two line-outs and a single back up the box. Ran a 4.75 on a turn and showed athletic actions in center field. Two-way prospect has been an important arm on a deep pitching staff at East Pennsboro since his sophomore year.

Bo Haines OF / LHP / Ringgold, PA / 2018

9/10/16 Physical, 5-foot-11, 210-pound left-handed hitter displayed his pop (95 mph) and his foot speed (4.45 on the turn) on a double during game action. Haines ran an event best 6.71 60-yard dash, registered 84 mph arm strength from the outfield and topped at 80 mph off the mound. Haines is a dead pull hitter with present power. He has the athleticism to be able to drive the baseball to all fields with some swing adjustments that would allow him to be a middle of the order run producer at the next level.

Brandon Kline OF / RHP / Canon-McMillan , PA / 2018

7/12/17 A right-handed hitter that starts in an open setup. An aggressive hitter that swings with intent. Load is smooth and swing is efficient. Strength stands out in his swing. Generates above average bat speed on a level path. Ball jumps off his bat. Finds the gap with ease and shows signs of regular power. In the infield, his athleticism was on display. Fields out in front of his body on his toes. Footwork is clean as he stays square to the ball. Funnels the ball to his chest before throwing from a 3/4 arm slot. From the outfield, he utilizes a long crow hop to gather downhill momentum. Arm has a natural motion from a 3/4 release. Showcases above average arm strength with some accuracy. Also was very impressive on the mound. Smaller frame but arm really works. Fastball jumps out of his hand with late run at times. Consistently in the zone with the pitch, setting up arsenal of secondary offerings. Spins a sharp, 11/5 shaped breaking ball with depth. Pitch has enough movement and depth to produce weak contact/swing and misses.  Slider has similar depth and sharpness to his breaking ball, working across the plate. The two breaking balls run into eachother at times. Also showed a changeup a few times, maintaining fastball arm speed. A strike thrower that consistently pounded the zone with all offerings. A definite arm to follow.

Ben Mongelluzzo OF / RHP / Penn-Trafford , PA / 2018

8/19/16 Mongelluzzo has consistently shown two-way abilities (6.95 60-yard dash, 87 mph bat exit velocity, 81 mph outfield arm strength). On this occasion the 5-foot-11, 165-pounder showed progress on the mound sitting 80-82 from a high 3/4 arm slot. Mongelluzzo also flashed a 74 mph curveball with tight 11/5 rotation.

Brett Steinle OF / RHP / Seneca Valley, PA / 2018

10/29/16 6-foot, 160-pound primary outfielder posted solid numbers across the board. Ran a 6.88 60-yard dash and showcased athletic defensive actions with 83 mph arm strength to home plate. The right-handed hitter starts from a slightly open stance and initiates his swing with a controlled, toe-tap stride. Barreled the baseball consistently while creating some backspin with a bat exit velocity of 90 mph.

Tim Beimel OF / RHP / St. Marys Area, PA / 2018

2/12/17 5-foot-10, 165-pound right-handed hitter who ran a 6.94 60-yard dash. Slightly open stance with no hand load. Can get to extension early, but flashes solid bat speed (85 mph exit velocity) when he's on time. Defensively, he exhibited accurate 85 mph arm strength out of an over-the-top slot. Also pitched out of an over-the-top slot. Compact, repeatable delivery. Lands with toe pointing at catcher and works around front side somewhat. Fastball sat 76-79, touching 81 mph. Also featured a change-up at 73-75 with some dive to it and a curveball at 67-69 that lacked significant tilt.
