PBR Eval & Measurables Showcase Analysis: Class of 2020

The PBR Evaluation & Measurables Showcase took place Saturday at the Keystone State Baseball Academy in Manheim, PA. A total of 45 prospects from across two states showcased their talents with prospects representing the classes of 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021 and 2022. Today we continue our analysis of all prospects in attendance by reviewing those prospects in the Class of 2020.

Kamal GrayKamal Gray, RHP/SS, Archbishop Carroll HS
5-foot-11, 165-pound two-way prospect flashed a developing skill set with raw athleticism in all that he does. The primary pitcher was especially impressive on the mound where he sat 80-82 showing significant cut action to his fastball with plenty more in the tank. His 77 mph slider shows similar action as his fastball with some depth on occasion. Also commanded a 76 mph changeup with significant 2-seam run. Right-handed hitter starts from an open stance and utilizes a short toe-tap stride to initiate his swing. Showcased 85 mph bat exit velocity with some present power. Displayed athletic actions with the ability to make throws from multiple arm angles at shortstop. Showcased 7.12 foot speed and active feet while making plays on the move.

Noah Wijnen-RiemsNoah-Wijnen Riems, OF/1B, New Brighton HS
Physically advance left-handed hitter with present power in his left-hand swing. 6-foot, 190-pounder starts from a open stance and utilizes a leg lift stride to initiate his swing. Clears hips well allowing hands to work through the baseball and creates significant back spin with a bat exit velocity of 89 mph. Ran a solid 7.28 60-yard dash and displayed athletic defensive actions in the outfield and at first base. Current 75 mph arm strength from the outfield should improve with physical maturity and will definitely play at first base.

CLASS OF 2020

Collin Campbell, 1B/RHP, Gettysburg Area HS
5-foot-8, 175-pound right-handed hitter starts from a square stance and utilizes a short lift-and-replace stride to initiate his swing. Barreled the baseball routinely during a solid round of batting practice with a flat barrel path through the zone and a bat exit velocity of 74 mph. Two-way prospect showcased active feet around the bag at first base with accurate 65 mph arm strength across the diamond. Sat 67-70 out of a high 3/4 arm slot with two-seam run to his fastball. Also displayed a 59 mph curveball with 10/4 rotation and a 63 mph changeup with some sink.

Justin Fleig, OF, Central Dauphin HS 
5-foot-7, 130-pound right-handed hitter starts from an open stance and utilizes a short, leg-lift stride to initiate his swing. Showcased a solid feel for the barrel with some barrel drag through the hitting zone and a bat exit velocity of 75 mph. Showcased accurate 71 arm strength from the outfield and a developing skill set as a middle infielder. Ran a 7.41 60-yard dash.

Dillon Gebler, 2B, Gettysburg Area HS
5-foot-9, 140-pound right-handed hitter starts from a square stance and initiates his swing with a leg lift stride. Swings with intent and routinely squared the baseball during his round of batting practice with a bat exit velocity of 73 mph. Ran a 7.46 60-yard dash and displayed accurate 68 mph arm strength across the diamond. Overall game will benefit from physical maturity and strength gains moving forward.

Tyler Long, SS, Annville-Cleona HS
5-foot-4, 135-pounder impressed with his all-around skill set. The right-handed hitter starts from a slightly open stance and utilizes a short stride to initiate his swing. Barreled the baseball routinely with a line drive approach. Registered a bat exit velocity of 75 mph. Showcased active feet defensively with accurate 74 mph arm strength across the diamond and ran 7.65 60-yard dash. Displayed sound fundamental skills that will continue to improve with strength gains and physical maturity.

Garrett Meckley, C/1B, Kennard Dale HS
6-foot-1, 180-pound right-handed hitter starts from a slightly open stance a short, leg lift stride to initiate his swing. A deep load leads to some length in his swing with a bat exit velocity of 78 mph. Showcased pop times of 2.25-2.35 on throws of 71 mph from the crouch and accurate 67 mph arm strength across the diamond from first base.

Christian Melendez, RHP/SS, Shippensburg Area HS
5-foot-11, 165-pound two-way prospect sat 66-69 from a high 3/4 arm slot off the mound. Also displayed a 61 mph curveball with 11/5 rotation and 65 mph changeup with some arm side run. The right-handed hitter starts from a square stance and initiates his swing with a lift-and-replace stride. Some arm bar action leads to length in the swing with a bat exit velocity of 75 mph. Ran a 7.75 60-yard dash and showcased deliberate defensive actions at shortstop with 65 mph arm strength across the diamond.

Justin Miller, 1B/LHP, Central Dauphin HS
Physical 5-foot-10, 190-pound two-way prospect. Left-handed hitter starts from a slightly open stance and utilizes a leg lift stride to initiate his swing. Displayed a strong lower half and a solid feel for the barrel with a bat exit velocity of 84 mph. Showcased solid glove work around the bag at first base with accurate 66 mph across the diamond. Lefty sat 67-70 from a 3/4 arm slot while also displaying a 62 mph curveball with 1/7 rotation and a 62 mph changeup with solid arm speed and some arm side run.

Brevin Neveker, OF, New Oxford HS 
5-foot-5, 115-pound right-handed hitter starts from a slightly open stance and initiates his swing with a short, lift-and-replace stride. Displayed a line drive approach with a flat barrel path through the zone and a bat exit velocity of 64 mph. Ran a 7.26 60-yard dash and showcased athletic defensive actions with accurate 72 mph arm strength from the outfield.

Evan Rizzo, 2B, Garden Spot HS
5-foot-7, 135-pound right-handed hitter starts from a square stance and utilizes a lift-and-replace stride to initiate his swing. Displayed a line drive approach with a feel for the barrel and a bat exit velocity of 76 mph. Ran a 7.47 60-yard dash and showcased 62 mph arm strength across the diamond.
