2023 Rankings Updated & Expanded

The crushing blow that COVID-19 issued to the world did not spare the baseball community. Warm weather states, merely a few weeks into game play, were abruptly put on hold while their northern counterparts never got the chance to emerge from indoor workouts before cancellations swept from coast to coast. Baseball has completely come to a standstill.
But this was not before the conclusion of preseason workouts and showcases all across the PBR landscape. Those, combined with the limited, albeit substantial, practices, scrimmages, and games in some states allowed the “boots on the ground” PBR scouting staff to put together a strong collection of 2023 (freshmen) players, and ultimately allowed the Overall Rankings to expand to 300. While the lack of game play throughout the high school season hindered the likely emergence of many talented players, PBR remains committed to scouring the country for ballplayers, and you can count on us to be there as soon as play resumes.
In debating when/if to put out a modest list that expanded the class’ rankings, one thought ultimately prevailed: the lack of high school play combined with a shortened recruiting window may inhibit the ability of college coaches to expand their follow lists for the summer. With so many players having shown vast advancements throughout the offseason, we felt it necessary to divulge notes and thoughts on players despite the lack of action in the spring. Careful consideration, as always, went into the making of the Top 300, and we anticipate an influx of talent and an extension of the list by the end of the summer.
