PREP BASEBALL REPORT ANNOUNCES PBR LIMITED SERIES
Prep Baseball Report is proud to announce the PBR Limited Series, a set of high-profile, invite-only tournaments that will be scouted by our state and national PBR Staff. After hearing the complaints about the overwhelming travel, the exorbitant cost for teams and parents, and the distance between fields, we have created regionalized, concentrated tournaments that will be held at high-profile facilities across the country.
The PBR Staff is constantly scouting players and teams across their respective states, and have created the PBR Limited Series to bring some of these high-profile teams together play on one stage. The PBR Limited Series will bring the top teams together in a unique setting that will provide great exposure for the athletes and participating programs.
BLAZE ALEXANDER TRANSFERS TO IMG ACADEMY
Nathan Rode and PBR Staff
Another top draft prospect is transferring to IMG Academy, FL. SS Blaze Alexander, formerly of Bishop Verot HS, FL, makes the trek up I-75 from Fort Myers to Bradenton as we head into the offseason. Ranked No. 82 in the PBR Draft 100, the South Carolina recruit has athletic actions in the infield and a plus arm. There is some length to his swing and he tends to spin off, but he trusts his hands and they’re quick through the zone. IMG Academy will be a one-stop shop for scouts in the spring with Alexander joining fellow infielder Bryce Reagan and RHP Levi Kelly.
NATIONAL SIGNING DAY EDITION
Shooter Hunt
National Crosschecker
With the early signing period scheduled for next week, In the Weeds, takes a look at some of the better uncommitted 2018 players from across the PBR coverage area. The early signing period does not put an absolute end to recruiting for most schools as many will still be looking for players throughout the spring, as well. Each player on the list demonstrates the skills and talent to compete at some level in college. Some missed key recruiting periods do to injury/illness, others are late-bloomers, while others may be lacking some of the stand out metrics, but will be solid additions because of their overall play.
UNCOMMITTED 2019 OUTFIELDERS
Nathan Rode and PBR Staff
The Hotlist is examining the top uncommitted 2019 prospects by position. While the speed of recruiting seems to be redlining, there is a ton of talent still available for college programs, not to mention that there is no reason for any players to be wringing their hands over committing just yet. So far, we’ve highlighted pitchers, catchers and infielders. Now, we take a look at the available outfielders.

Previously, instant reaction from Day 1, Day 2, Day 3, and a by the numbers look at the showcase portion and in-game pitching velocities can be seen HERE.
1. Villers Fills It Up
When pitching rotations for the weekend were announced last week, RHP Ian Villers’ (Northgate, CA, 2018) name was immediately circled, becoming a must-see for the PBR Staff. There was much hype and excitement over the presence of the 6-foot-5, 235-pound Cal commit, and he did not disappoint. Villers hopped on the mound and sat 86-89 mph, touching an event-high 90.5 mph as the graphic below illustrates.
RECRUITING ESSENTIALS MAILBAG
Brandon Hall
North Carolina Director of Scouting
As we work to help, educate, and at times guide parents and players through the recruiting process we realize that there are questions. With each topic we cover, we can uncover areas that players and parents have not experienced, or thought about, within their own process. To continue to help, we setup our Mailbag email address ([email protected]) so we could address individual questions while keeping our finger on the pulse of the recruiting world.
We are going to dive into the mailbag today. In an effort to keep the questions coming, we are not going to call out any individuals and we are going to paraphrase some of the emails as several may be working toward the same topic. Should you have any questions regarding rules or the recruiting process, please feel free to email us and we will work to provide a response in a timely manner.
