WESTFIELD, IN- Today was the opening day of the PBR Future Games. We began with the workout portion of the event; let’s take a look at what Wisconsin players stood out today.

In batting practice 6-foot-4, 245-pound Griffin Doersching put on one of the best power displays of the day, showing easy pullside power hitting three home runs out of his twelve swings. Strong thru contact with, had the second best exit velocity of the event at 98 mph. During infield work Doersching showed athleticism for his size and a strong accurate arm.

5-foot-8, 150-pound shortstop Alex Rodriguez has a compact athletic frame and showed well during the infield workout. Rodriguez stays low to the ground, working thru the ball, and showing lateral agility. Up and down load at the plate causes him to get caught in between occasionally, but when in rhythm shows the ability to barrel balls up.

6-foot-3, 190-pound left-handed hitting outfielder Ben Hauser used the workout portion of the event to raise his stock. At the plate Hauser hits from an upright stance with his hands close to his body. Pull hitter with some pop. Stays tall throughout his swing with strength thru contact. In the outfield showed quick-twitch athleticism with raw arm strength throwing 87 mph during drills.

Zach Clayton took a solid round of batting practice showing off pullside power and strength thru contact (93 mph exit velocity from a tee). At 6-foot-2, 200-pounds with a strong frame Clayton took drills at shortstop, but might outgrow the position in the future. Projects to move to third base and shows the athleticism (running a 6.91 60-yard dash) to also play a corner outfield spot.

Nicholas Elsen continues to show off his prowess at the plate. Despite being 6-foot-1, and 170-pounds Elsen has power, with 92 mph exit velocity form a tee. In batting practice he got in a groove towards the end of his round and showed feel for the barrel squaring up line drive to left field.

Quick-twitch athlete Nicholas Urban-Michalak ran a team best 6.76 60-yard dash today. In the infield today he was more under control than we have seen in the past and showed a strong arm throwing 88 mph from shortstop. Still continuing to develop as a baseball player but shows the raw tools necessary for the next level.

Smooth fielding shortstop Jack Blomgren had solid workout running a 6.90 60-yard dash, throwing 84 mph across the infield, and 87 mph exit velocity from a tee.
