2020 DRAFT: After starting all 70 games last season and all 15 this season, Blomgren is the Iron Man of Wolverine baseball. His superior makeup and toughness are off the charts. While his tools are modest and there is little flash to his game, he's a steady ballplayer whose sum of value is greater than his parts. As a defender he's sure-handed with above-average range despite average run times down the line (4.27-4.34) and 60-yard (6.82). His arm is also average to slightly above and plays up a hair with his instincts and good internal clock. At the plate he has a balanced approach and adequate bat speed with a line drive swing showing some gap power. Last spring he slashed (.314/.417/.401) and was off to a solid start in 2020 with a .286/.444/.393 slash. Blomgren is likely to be selected in the top five rounds. His overall toolset and makeup are similar to former Big Ten shortstop Mason McCoy who went in the 6th round in 2017.
