Week 6 Diamond Notes
May 12, 2023
Each week, WIAA coaches around the state submit to us their nominations for the PBR Wisconsin Player of the Week honors. On Wednesday, we awarded the second 'Players of the Week' awards of the year, representing Week 6, to LHP/1B Carson Dupuis (Edgerton, 2023; Upper Iowa commit), who was dominant on both sides of the ball as he struck out a whopping 25 batters while not allowing a run in his two starts. At the plate, he combined for nine hits, five of which were for extra bases, 11 RBIs and seven runs scored and earned this week’s 'Pitcher of the Week' honors, as a result. RHP Brayden Olson (Saint Croix Falls, 2023; Purdue commit) earned ‘Player of the Week’ honors after proving to be an impactful member of the lineup going 6-for-11 with two home runs on the week.
Inside of this Diamond Notes piece, we acknowledge the performances that fell short of that POTW honor, but are still deserving of some recognition here.
