PBR N CA Uncommitted Senior Games - Stout body type on 5-foot-10 200-pound frame, competed as two-way player and showed feel and baseball IQ. Simple delivery, starts on far 1st base side of rubber, rocks back a bit to heel upon leg lift, stride is in-line to plate and works to lock in his glove side arm though does spin off a bit upon release, full 3-pitch repertoire and understanding of how to mix and change speeds. Best when pitching backward, utilizing sweeping slider and feel of the change-up. Fastball fairly straight but can play up with his ability to pitch off the offspeed stuff. Pitch to contact approach and willing to let the defense play, fields position well and works with good tempo.

7.59 60yd, 74 INF MPH, 94 EV
Wide, medium, full frame build (7.59 60yd) with strength present. Balanced, tall stance keeping hands at back shoulder with high back elbow; rocks into toe-tap with hands tightening deep. Direct hands working upwards through the zone on high shoulder finish; staying behind the ball with shoulders rotating upwards through contact working to get the strength in the frame to come out (94 EV). BP focused middle of the field with best swings producing lifted lindrives; stayed through middle during game with a hit to LCF. Works for left/right footwork moving body to get around the baseball and use high release arm to get rid of the ball quickly (74 MPH); can keep it firm across the diamond with added arm strength being an area for improvement.

8/25/18

PBR N CA Underclass Games - 5-foot-10, 180-pounds, thicker body type, full throughout the hips and upper legs. Overhand slot, arm works easy, shallow two-piece backside arm action, good direction down the slope, when he got to good extension his stuff played up. Fastball was fairly straight. Did appear to be working too hard toward max effort in the game action which took away from his control, particularly of the fastball. Timing of lower body and hand separation where also off, again, affecting control. When timing was good he showed good lower body stability which obviously allows the ability to get to a more consistent release point. Used both a slow spiked curveball and a slider. Is likely better than what he showed and seeing in the spring would be good, the arm works and he’s got a delivery that should work as well.
