Bay Area World Series 2022 - Uncommitted; Strong sizeable frame with ability to grow into a physical young man beyond the HS level, shows ability at the plate (legit, 99.7 mph max EV), with an approach that will play well as he gets beyond HS (willing to use all fields and has some thump to RF), but it's on the mound where he has some potential that shows up now, FB up to 87 mph and 2235 max spin, sinker potential with some bat breaking life, tight CB 70-74 mph with max 2395 spin, has feel for the pitch and the spin score of 32 is high; arm played well in INF at 1B as well with 84 mph throw across diamond, big hard hit % of 80% (% of hits with EV over 90 mph), high line drive and sweet spot % as well, so taken in totality, he's a two-way talent and at some level of 4-year college baseball he could receive an opportunity to do both.
1/30/22
Positional Profile: 1B/RHP Physical: 6-3, 200-pounds; Broad shouldered, muscular build. 7.87 runner in the 60. Offensively: RHH. Even setup, with feet just outside his shoulders; flat bat moving to upright position. Short take back with the hands with a moderate leg kick for timing. Drifts into contact while showing a strong lower half. Showed a slight lift to the ball with a high finish. More line drives than fly balls and ground balls with a peak exit velocity of 100 MPH via Trackman. Physical hitter, high level barrel awareness and feel, plus bat speed at the peak, short finish through contact indicating bat control through contact. Defensively: Starts with an upright /tall setup; uses prep hop while showing active feet. Hands work through the ball with a clean transfer. Moderate arm circle from a standard 3/4 arm slot. 1B - 82 MPH. Big target, arm is big for the position, able to make arm angle adjustments, plays with calm pace.
Pitching: Uses a center rubber setup while using an angled drop step. Belt high leg drive with a slight lean over the belt. Has a moderate stride landing inline with the plate. Moderate arm swing while showing no restrictions; high 3/4 slot. Upright with finish. FB: Peak velo of 84 MPH, while sitting 82-83 MPH; straight action. CB: 70-71 MPH; 11-5 shape. SL: 72-73 MPH; slurve like. Quick pace worker, attacking demeanor with ability to put pressure on hitter with mound presence, feel for the zone, reliever type repertoire where velocity could tick upward as he develops.
