Uncommitted Senior Games:

7.13 60yd, 70 OF Velo, 82 Exit Velo

Long, wirey frame with squared build; moves well flashing burst (7.13 60yd). Wide stance with even hands having a deep load of the hands on a slight foot lift; direct hands with angled barrel to produce line drives as hands stayed firm through zone (82 EV). Showed ability to backspin the ball into gaps and the pullside flashing quick turns from the body. Works through the ball with athletic feet; long arm stays in time with the body through the baseball (70 OF MPH). Showed flashes of defensive ability in the game gettin to the baseball quickly.

CCB World Series - Athletically build medium frame with wider chest and quick feet, Dong stood out in the OF going to get balls in gaps and showing the ability to open up and track the ball. The arm is longer but shows fair strength and able to keep it accurate. At the plate he keeps hands tight with quick turns having a compact swing; showed ability to turn on inside pitch for 2B down the LF line and use his speed going down the line (4.32 H-1st). His baserunning was very good understanding when to tag up and advancing on balls that most wouldn’t try to run on.

BAWS 2019 - Long, lean large frame; very slender and athletic (7.02 60yd). Wide stance with even high hands and flared elbows; rocks weight into back hip as front leg turns. Hands pull back slightly with direct forward path; barrel has flat path through the zone. When weight transfer is efficient able to drive the ball to the pull side and middle of the field (77 EV). Put together quality AB’s during the games fouling off tough pitches and making lots of solid contact to the middle of the diamond; just missed some more hits that ended up at fielders. Long arm out of the glove able to keep throws to the bags; limited strength in frame (69 MPH); showed good range during games and played well behind the baseball.
