Body: 5-9, 155-pounds. Medium build. Athleticism throughout. Some present strength in the lower half.
Hit: RHH. Relaxed with bat rested at his shoulder in stance and is slightly open. Mild leg kick trigger as hands rock back. Longer swing as it enters the zone on a more level path. Consistent contact point out in front for a more pull side approach. Showed during game action as he barreled up on an 87 mph FB and drove it down the LF line for a double.
Power: 88 max exit velocity
Arm: RH. C - 74 mph. INF - 79 mph. INF: Shorter quick arm action. Average arm strength for level. 4/5 accurate. Quicker in getting to release. C: 4/5 accurate throwdowns. Pulls into scalp. Shorter arm action. Average arm strength for level.
Defense: 2.04-2.16 pop times. Showed solid actions in the INF. Lighter feet that play through the ball with rythm. Stayed lower to ball. C: One of the better defensive catchers at the event. Pitch framing and blocking skills were present. Mixed up crouches. Stayed below the ball and worked up.
Run: 7.44 runner in the 60.
PBR N CA Top Prospect Game - Small proportioned and athletic frame at 5-foot-9 145-pounds, with quick feet (7.39 60-yard) and wiry strength; played with hustle/energy all game showing tools that will keep improving. The tall stance allows the even hands to be quick to contact flashing whip through the zone as he worked gap-to-gap during BP. Defense showed his athleticism with ability to beat balls behind the plate and low quiet target; hustled to back up on a throw to first preventing runners from advancing. Arm is good in game and time to keep adding strength (73 mph; 2.12-2.20 Pop). Advanced for age in blocking/control skills.
PBR Bay Area Open - Wiry, athletic frame with squared shoulders and some length in the torso. Quick out of stance with good first steps; can see the run time improving as he continues to mature and strengthen (7.65 60 yd). Opened stance with relaxed elbows having slight barrel bounce from deep set lower hands; bigger leg kick with weight staying over back foot as hands work back. Made adjustments on his timing quickly removing the length around the baseball while remaining behind the baseball; swing is level able to work the ball gap-to-gap projecting more carry with his ability to work slightly under the baseball (80 EV). Wide stance behind the plate showed better pop times when he made sure his footwork gained ground inline with 2nd base; quick transfer to put the ball on the arm side of the bag consistently (2.12-2.16 Pop, 70 MPH). Showed strong blocking skills with rolled shoulder able to deaden the ball on his body. Took control behind the plate using the flexibility in his wrist to turn the glove hand around the zone. Good skills with tools that can continue to improve as he grows and matures.
