9.8.16 - Verbally committed to Evansville.

4.14.16 - Ranked No. 31 in the Illinois 2017 class. 6-foot-4, 186-pound long and lean, projectable right-handed pitcher. Delivery has some rhythm and deception; high front side and jumps at the hitter some. Long arm on the backside, over-the-top slot. Has been up to 90 mph at an event this past winter. On this day his fastball sat 85-87 mph, mostly straight action and missed up in the zone; when he was able to get the ball down, got good tilt. Flashed an above-average curveball at times, potential swing-and-miss pitch, 12/6 action, depth and clocked at 72-73 mph. Threw two changeups at 81 mph. Overall, projectable right-handed pitcher with a live arm and can spin the baseball.

2.14.16 - Ruesch is a class of 2017 right-handed pitcher that attends Edwardsville HS in Edwardsville, IL. Athletic 6-foot-4, 186-pound frame with strength. Delivery with rhythm. Tall, stacked balance point with slight tuck to hide ball, aggressive move to the plate, excellent body control throughout delivery, repeats well. Easy arm, clean arm action, throws from high three-quarters slot. Worked down in the zone with fastball, 87-89 mph, topped out at 90. 12/6 breaking ball, at times very sharp, 71-72 mph. Feel for change-up with arm side run, 80-82 mph. Impressive class of 2017 prospect with an ideal pitcher’s frame and polished delivery. Velocity trending up, was topping out at 83 mph this past August.

8.9.15 - Ruesch is a 6-foot-3 175-pound right-handed pitcher in Illinois’ 2017 class. Ruesch has an up-tempo and aggressive delivery, works uphill in shoulders at balance, quick arm speed. Throws with some deception in an over-the-top release, hides ball well, downhill plane.  Fastball max velo at 83 mph on two pitches, sitting 81-82 mph with running action.  Curveball has 12-to-6 downward movement, fastball arm speed, most start in zone and break out of zone, late movement, 64-67 mph.  Allowed one hit and two walks in game action.

10/5/2018

Transfer from Evansville. Ruesch was his typical self pitching at 89-91 mph. Showcased his swing and miss splitty and a controlled curveball throwing all pitches for strikes.
