6/14 - The 6-foot-2, 190-pound right-hander helped Prairie Ridge to a surprising fourth-place finish in Class 4A. At the state tournament in early June, Cilano flashed 84-86 velocity and a serviceable breaking ball. At the Northwest Suburban Showcase at St. Charles North two weeks later, Cilano turned heads when he pitched 88-90 in his outing. He also throws a slider that fluctuated between 72-78 mph that gets slurvy at lower velocities. Cilano’s delivery works across his body, making it difficult to pick up the ball for right-handed hitters, and his command wavers at times, but when he’s on his lively fastball and slider can be untouchable.
