MIF Blake Ragsdale (Lyons Township, 2027; TCU commit) looked the part as one of the top players in the Illinois ‘27 class. The TCU commit stands at an athletic 5-foot-11, 160-pound build with more to come within the frame. Out of the leadoff spot, Ragsdale put together a number of quality swings and at-bats. On Sunday, the right-handed hitter was all over the barrel, finishing with two hits including a long triple that displayed his power-potential as well as speed around the bases. Defensively, Ragsdale showed advanced actions up the middle, making a number of plays with ease. The PBR Junior Future Games participant is one to watch as he heads into his first year of high school.
The 2022 Junior Future Games alum and TCU commit flashed ability as a two-way player on Friday. A R/R, INF/RHP, shined both at the plate and on the mound. At the plate, he went 3-for-3 with a double and two RBIs. Possesses a fluid swing that stays on the barrel to all fields. On the mound, he came into the game in relief and dominated: 3.1 IP, H, 0 R, and striking out five. The fastball got up to 81 mph and had feel for a slider that induced swings and misses.
Ragsdale flashed at the plate Thursday morning with his situational hitting. Went 1-for-3 with a sac fly and two RBIs batting out of the leadoff spot for White Sox Ace.
Junior Futures Games: To start the week Team Illinois dropped the first game to Florida, 10-0. However, after that first game, the pieces for Team Illinois started falling into place. Illinois then faced off with Alabama in a nail-biting game where there were multiple lead swings. MIF Blake Ragsdale went 2-for-2 with two RBIs.

Blake Ragsdale (Lyons Township, 2027) was a standout performer in multiple aspects on Wednesday; reaching up to 76.5 on the mound and cruising to a 7.47 60-time. The right-handed hitter also reached up to 81 mph for a max exit velocity and took one of the more polished rounds of the day with easy bat-speed and a line-drive approach; pairing with an athletic round of defense and strong arm (80 mph across the infield).
