Looks to be an important left-handed arm for Kaskaskia. The sophomore is listed with an athletic 5-foot-10, 155-pound frame. Phillips starts off with a fastball that sits 86-89 mph with arm-side run. His changeup sat 79-80 mph with sinking action. Phillips also showed two quality breaking balls. His slider sat 75-78 mph with 10/4 shape. He rounded out his pitch mix with a curveball that sat 72-74 mph with late action.

Brady Phillips, LHP, Carterville (IL), 2024 Is an athletic 5-foot-10, 155 pound left hander that showed well throughout his ‘pen. Phillips repeats his delivery with athleticism and intent, the arm is live with looseness and whip through release. Three-pitch mix, running his fastball up to 88 mph sitting in the upper-80s throughout while playing with life out of the hand. The two secondary pitches were thrown with intent out of the same window, the upper-70s slider played with tight breaking action, the upper-70s changeup was around the zone with tight fading action.

Verbally committed to Kaskaskia JC.

LHP Brady Phillips (Carterville, 2024) offers an intriguing look on the mound. Though Phillips’ fastball doesn’t have overpowering velocity, playing in the low-80s, he creates natural rise on the pitch, allowing it to play up from its velocity band. He naturally backspins the baseball from a lower release height on average and his fastball grabbed plenty of in-zone whiffs, most of them at the top of the zone. Phillips also landed a low-70s slider for strikes and flashed natural fade on a 73-74 mph changeup.
