Limestone College commit. Listed 5-foot-9, 171-pounds, athletic, well-proportioned body. Howell got the start on the mound against Sandburg and batted sixth in the lineup. A quick worker from the mound, an athletic delivery, remains in rhythm throughout. Pitches come from a long, full arm action with a 3/4 slot. Attacking hitters with a 69% strike rate and using a four-seam type fastball to get the first strike, easy out of the hand, holding 82-84 mph throughout the outing. Working off the fastball was a curveball playing with a slider-type action at 74-76 mph, and a changeup with sink at 74-77 mph. Howell allowed one hit in his four scoreless innings, one walk and struck out four. Offensively, was 1-for-3 and drove in a run in the fifth inning that made it 6-0.
