5.23.18 - Parkland recruit, 6-foot-5 right-handed pitcher, 205-pound strong build, athletic projectable frame. Works from a high ¾ arm slot with a long arm action. Landed in athletic, square position. Started against Maine East in regional semi-final action, and was dominant from the first pitch.Fastball sat consistently between 85-87, touching 88. Used early and often, pounding the inside corner to right handed hitters with run to it. Get ahead with FB in counts and finished off hitter in the upper part of the strike zone. Slider sat between 75-77 mph with sharp late biting action, and tight rotation. Used slider at any point in the count, and commanded it. Barrette would get the win on the day, and finish with an impressive stat line (7 IP, 1H, 3BB, 12K).
3.29.18 - Parkland JC commit, currently ranked No. 155 in Illinois’ Class of 2018. 6-foot-5, 205-pound right-handed pitcher, strong, physical frame. Got the start against Nazareth, tossing three shutout innings, scattering three hits, walking none, and striking out five. Took some time to settle in, allowed three of first four batters to reach base, but with help of defense escaped unscathed. Sent the Roadrunners down in order the following two innings, striking out four of the six batters. Long, quick arm action, high ¾ slot. Fastball, late armside run and sink, 84-87, touching 88. Slider, 11/5 shape, tight rotation, sharp break, 73-77. Changeup, fade action, 73 mph.
10.29.17 - Verbally committed to Parkland JC (IL).
8.8.17 - 6-foot-5, 205-pound right-handed pitcher with a strong frame. On the mound works from a high ¾ arm angle with a long, quick arm action. Tall and fall delivery with a square landing and some rhythm. Fastball sat 84-85 mph working arm side. Slider has 10-4 shape with sharp-breaking action and tight rotation at 71-74 mph. Changeup sat 72 mph.
1.17.16 - Prototypical pitchers frame, 6-foot-5, 190-pound long and projectable build right-handed pitcher. Drop and drive delivery, smooth rhythm and square landing. Long arm action, out of a ¾ window with some present arm strength. Fastball sat 79-81 mph with slight run and sink when down in the zone. Slider flashed sweeping motion, occasionally flattened out when underneath and sat at 72 mph. Changeup flashed slight arm-side-run and ranged between 69-70 mph. Intriguing arm in the 2018 class given his frame and arm strength.
