Senior Games: Statistical Analysis

The 2018 Senior Games took place Tuesday, August 8th at Triton JC in River Grove, IL. Over 100 uncommitted prospects from the class of 2018 participated in a pro-style workout and simulated games in front of the PBR Scouting Staff. Today, we start the event analysis with stats story.

Outfielders dominated the 60, taking all five of the top spots. Max Snowden (Grayslake Central) set the pace at 6.77. Hot on his heels, though, was Nick Angel (Libertyville) at 6.79.
The lanky, wiry-framed Nick Shelton (Sandburg) posted the top fastball of the event at 89 mph.
top exit velocity
Not a whole lot separated the top of the pack in exit velocity. Coliani Martinez (Holy Trinity) recorded the top exit velocity at 92 mph. Just behind him was Jimmy Friel (Grant) at 91. Five different players tied for the third highest exit velocity at 90.
tOP INFIELD VELOCITY
Evan Waddell (Belvidere North) showed that his power arm off the mound (topped out at 86 mph) translated to the field, as he threw 83 mph across the diamond from first base.
top outfield velocity
After posting the third fastest 60 at the event (6.83), Corey Hall (Champaign Centennial) took to the outfield to record the top outfield velocity at 88 mph.
top catcher pop times
Brett Riegler (Downers Grove South) set the pace for catcher pop times, posting an event best 2.05. Benjamin Rogina (Joliet West) was the most consistent catcher on the leaderboard, as his times had a variance of 0.08 seconds.

Justin Wilk (Buffalo Grove) showed off the biggest arm from the crouch, topping out at 79 mph.
