7.7.12
The 6-foot-3, 175-pound junior emerged as a shutdown pitcher for the Tigers. A big reason why Plainfield North was once again a top 10 team for much of the season, Miller finished 11-0 with a 0.85 ERA. In 66.2 innings, he notched 74 strikeouts and walked 11.
6/14/12 Miller is an athletic and projectable 6-foot-4, 180-pound right handed pitcher who operates from a high 3/4 arm slot and showed a loose, quick arm. Miller showcased a fastball with arm side run that was in the 82-83 mph range. He also featured a changeup sitting at 75-76 with sink and life down in the zone, and a 71-72 mph slider. Miller has long arms and legs, and as he continues to grow into his frame, look for him to see a velocity spike in the coming years.
Miller is an extremely projectable 6-foot-3, 175-pound right-hander who features long legs and arms. With his wiry body type and quick arm, Miller should see a significant velocity spike with his 79-81 mph fastball. Miller exhibited good rhythm and a fluid arm coming from a high 3/4 arm slot. He showed feel for three pitches; his curveball has the potential to be a plus pitch, as it demonstrated sharp, two-plane break in the 66-69 range. He also threw his changeup, which showed some arm-side sink, for strikes.
