LHP Caden Vogt (Marengo, 2023) turned in one of the event’s cleanest outings. The 5-foot-11, 165-pound southpaw pumped three pitches for strikes, working primarily off a low-80s fastball that played from a lower arm slot (4.3 feet) on average. Vogt comfortably expanded the zone, elevating in two-strike counts with backspin up in the zone and working the corners as well. Vogt’s primary secondary was a 68-71 mph curveball at 2,350+ RPM on average, peaking at 2,506 RPM, that worked across the zone off a 2/8 plane. He pitched backwards at times and threw it for strikes in any count, exerting clear confidence in the pitch and himself on the rubber. Vogt also turned over a low-spin and low-lift 76-77 mph changeup, rounding out a quality three-pitch mix. He’s a strike-throwing southpaw still on the market heading into his senior season.
