UC-Santa Barbara commit, currently ranked No. 34 in Illinois’ 2023 class. Extremely projectable frame, 6-foot-2, 155-pounds with long limbs and a high waist. His arm plays with a clean circle out of the glove, moving with a loose path into a ¾ release. Proskey works slightly up-tempo, stepping quickly into a leg-lift and then into a high balance point; from there he uses a drop/drive lower-half to move downhill, remaining in-line. His Fastball showed running action to the arm-side, playing with life through the zone, 84-85 mph. Showed some feel for both a breaking ball and changeup in warmups but stuck primarily to his fastball in game, collecting some swing and misses while also forcing a 6-4-3 double play. High-level 2023 follow.

Proskey toed the rubber on Saturday morning at our PBR at The Rock Fall Championships, and turned in one of the weekend’s most dominant starts. The long-limbed 6-foot-2, 155-pound Proskey struck out 12 batters in a complete game effort, helping lead the Sparks to a win. He relentlessly attacked hitters with an 83-86 mph fastball that came out clean from a loose, live arm. Proskey started to gain more feel for his breaking ball more as his start went on, landing it for strikes in the latter innings. The ease and fluidity that Proskey worked with downhill suggests a relatively high ceiling moving forward.
