Uncommitted. 6-foot, 160-pound, long-levered, high-waisted, projectable freshman left-handed pitcher. Came into the game out of the bullpen in a tough situation and pitched with advanced poise and a high-level of competitiveness throughout his outing. Ended up going 5.2 innings pitched, striking out 10 keeping Lemont a game that could have gotten away from them. Scattered four hits, two earned runs and walked two while throwing 58/98 pitches for strikes. Worked with a steady two-pitch mix throughout, earning a number of swing-and-misses and weak contact with both offerings. Fastball showed control of the zone, worked at the knees and up in the zone as well, gets run and sink at the bottom, sat 76-79 mph. Sweeping curveball was his go-to secondary, currently more of a get-me-over offering with above-average feel at 62-64 mph. Shows the proper shape and depth with a chance to become a putaway, advanced offering as his arm speed picks up down the road. Smooth, controlled delivery, repeatable and balanced at foot-strike with minimal effort throughout. Short, connected arm action, plays from a ¾ slot. Polished, competitive freshman to follow moving forward.
4/14/23

6/10/22
With his fastball, Madej sat 74-75 with a little funk and an imposing physical stature; above-average CB, 64-65, 1/7 with some depth that projects. Fluid, easy arm action; long draw and circle to a high ¾ release; jumps some. Closed, uphill, high reach down mound.
