LHP/OF Carter Braddy, Effingham, 2027 Uncommitted. Trim, high-waisted 5-foot-10, 145-pound frame with room for added strength in the future. Got the ball to start for the Hearts, and also batted leadoff. Braddy gave an upside look on the bump, going right at hitters with his 81-83 mph fastball, with quality secondaries to continue to build on for the future. He went to a 76-78 mph changeup early and often and induced swing and miss with the pitch. Braddy would also go to a 72-74 mph slider that played short and with more of a vertical shape, but it’s a pitch that could be above-average in the future. He would go on to strike out six batters over his four and two-thirds of work. He also showed an athletic left-handed swing and was on the barrel a couple times as well. A well-rounded athlete, Braddy is a name to know in the state’s sophomore class moving forward.
