4.19.16 - Auburn recruit. Ranked No. 25 in the Illinois class of 2016 and No. 339 overall. 6-foot, 165-pound, wiry, lean, athletic, right-handed pitcher, with plenty of room to add strength. Camacho showcased swing and miss stuff; striking out 14 in his seven inning complete game. Fluid, balanced, athletic delivery with rhythm, repeatable; over-the-head windup, square shoulders slightly closed, foot underneath his knee at balance point, lands square and stays on-line. Loose, whippy, quick, athletic arm action, out of a 3/4, low ¾ slot and easy effort. Fastball flashed life, arm-side-run, ability to command to arm side and glove side; boaring action in on right-handed hitters at times. Fastball comfortably sat 82-86 mph throughout, bumped a few 89’s mph when needed. Plenty more in the tank. Showcased plus feel for his breaking ball throughout the outing, throwing it where he wanted at any time. Slurvy action early in the count, hard, late biting action with two strikes; Mixed between 11/5 10/4 shape, 68-70 mph early in counts, 71-74 mph later in counts; plus potential with swing-and-miss action at times. Flashed one changeup at 71 mph up in the zone. Overall, fastball/breaking combination throughout, struck out five batters in a row at one point. Highly athletic and projectable right-handed pitcher. Final Line: 7IP, 3H, 14K, 0BB, 1HBP. Also, a left-handed hitter went 2-for-4, 2 2B, 3 RBI on the day.
11.9.15 - Verbally committed to Auburn University.
