Thrown with fastball arm speed at 73-75 mph with control. Shourd displayed swing and miss type stuff within the strike zone, proving his ability to miss barrels with regularity. His stretch only delivery, coupled with up tempo delivery and sinker slider type repertoire projects him to be a ready contributor to any bullpen at the next level. Shourd is one of the top available right handers in Illinois’ 2014 class.
