Lake Land JC commit. 5-foot-10, 185-pound. Came out of the bullpen and threw well on a day that was not favorable to pitchers. Picked up the win going 3.2 innings pitcher, scattered two hits, no runs, walked one and struck out six. Threw 29-of-48 pitches for strikes. Long arm action, ¾ slot, hides the baseball and worked in the low 80’s with the fastball. Went to a mid-60s breaking ball to keep hitters off balance.
LHP Colin McCarty (Lincoln-Way West, 2024) was nails for the Mud Dogs as he fired a complete game to send his squad to the championship game. Settled in nicely after a bumpy first inning; cruised with his fastball at 81-84 mph, working it to both sides of the plate. To pair off the fastball he went to an upper-60s breaking ball and low-70s changeup.
