Louisville signee. Currently ranked No. 9 in the state, and No. 232 in the country. Mowry started at first base and batted in the cleanup spot for the Knights and showed to be an advanced right-handed bat throughout the game. The strong 5-foot-11, 233-pound right-handed hitter looks the part at the plate; he has rhythm in his setup, stays relaxed, and has simple movements throughout his load and swing. His swing works with a level path that can go with the location of the pitch and stay on the barrel. In his first at-bat, he sent a low 90’s fastball back the other way to the right-center gap for two RBI. He finished the day 1-for-2 with a double, a walk, two RBI, and a run scored. Defensively, he is known for his game behind the plate but he showed natural and comfortable actions at first base, with feel around the bag, and some flexibility to pair.
3/25/24
Louisville signee currently ranked No. 9 in the state and No. 308 nationally had a solid all-around showing Monday. Offensively, he went 1-for-3, coming around to score two of the Knights’ three runs in the game. Mowry has a hitterish look about him in the box from the right side at an athletic 5-foot-11, 233-pounds with some present strength throughout the frame. His swing works direct to the ball and he is able to create extension through contact. Defensively, he has a commanding presence behind the dish and looks the part to go with his leadership qualities. He has flexible hips and repeatedly showed comfortable actions out of the crouch, displaying soft hands and the ability to present pitches at a high level. A willing blocker as well, Mowry looked comfortable catching a high-level arm in Luke Mensik throughout the game.
5/10/22
