2nd Team All State: Sanchez only played 24 games this season due to religious reasons, but he made them count when he did, hitting .500 with eight doubles, two home runs, 14 RBI, 25 runs scored, 10 walks, and only four strikeouts in 76 at bats. Sanchez was at his best in big games, including the regional semi-final against Joliet West where he went 4-for-5 with a home run, triple, two singles, and five RBI, while also closing out the game on the mound. He made one error in the outfield in centerfield, showcasing his all-around athleticism. The Georgetown-signee also went 3-1 with one save and a 1.934 ERA, in 25 innings pitched, posting a 1.1 WHIP. Sanchez was most impressive during the Indians sectional-finals run, where they lost to O’Fallon. Minooka ended the year winning 20 of 24 after starting out 3-10.

5.29.15 - 6-foot-1, 165-pound lanky and athletic OF/RHP ranked No. 73 in Illinois, impressed with banner day at the plate for Minooka. Went 4-for-5 on the day with a no doubt homer to left, two singles, and a three-run triple off the wall in center field. Only out of the day came on a controversial call in the first, was called out when his back foot was out of the batter’s box. Hits from an open stance, hands start high, hits to all fields, extremely relaxed in the box, short, level bat path, fluid swing, surprising power out of lanky frame, triple and home run both had backspin, carried well. Hitting over .500 on the season. Defensively, arm shows well during pregame, good carry on throws with accuracy from short, athletic high ¾ arm slot. Actually came in to pitch the last inning, showing a 79-81 mph fastball, and a 65 mph curveball, but didn’t look to be throwing his hardest with an eight run lead. Above average runner, ran 7.14 in the 60 last February, likely faster with a year of maturity. Heading to Georgetown next year

10/15/14 - Verbally committed to Georgetown.

2/16/14 - Athletic 6-foot-1, 165-pound shortstop, long arms and legs, projectable frame. Athletic defensive actions, moves well laterally, fields the ball with rhythm, fluid footwork, soft, easy hands. Has plenty of arm to stick at position, clocked at 86 mph across the infield, athletic arm action, throws well on move. Offensively, hits from slightly open setup. Has loose, easy hands, generates bat speed and barrel whip through zone, line drive, level swing, excellent extension after contact. Ran a 7.14 60. Overall, high-upside prospect who has plenty of room to develop physically; should acquire more power and foot speed as he fills into frame.

10/20/13 - Wiry build,6-foot, 165-pound infielder. Defensively showed above average range, moved well to both side, athletic actions, showed well above average body control. Arm works long and from a high ¾ slot at 81 mph with accuracy and carry. Ran a 7.26 60. At the plate he has an open stance with a short stride. Lowe half works but has some collapse. Maintains balance in the swing with a short, level path that gets extension and produces line drives to the gaps. Exit velocity was 82 mph.

2/18/13 - Slender build, 5-foot-11, 146-pound two way player. Over the top arm action from the outfield with some carry (81 mph). Shows some athleticism, footwork lacks consistency in the infield. Offensively hits from a balanced setup, shows some whip, level path, some uphill tendencies, 80 mph exit velocity. Works gap to gap, lacks strength, singles hitter. On the mound, fastball has run in the strike zone, 77-79 mph, flashed 80 mph. Curveball has 11/5 tilt, 66-69 mph. Change up has feel, fading action with slight sink, thrown with command, 70-72 mph. Also showed splitter with occasional life, lacked control, 66-67.
