Uncommitted. Trim, high-waisted 6-foot, 165-pound frame. Batted leadoff and played third base for the Huskies. A twitchy, athletic left-handed hitter, Cook flashed feel for the barrel, including a hard lineout in his first at-bat. Posted a 4.58 home-to-first. Defensively, he showed reliable hands at the hot corner while his arm accuracy continues to develop. A name to follow in the state's freshman class moving forward.
Cook, standing at a thin and proportionally athletic 5-foot-4, 110-frame, had himself a game, going 3-for-3 with three RBIs in the BennieBoys’ 14-4 mercy rule win Friday night. The left-handed hitting infielder’s performance included a double and pair of RBI singles, one of which was to the opposite field. Mechanically, displayed a short stride, flat bat path, efficient hip rotation, and repeatable front foot timing. With the ability to drive the ball to the opposite field and room for physical development, Cook profiles as a crafty top of the order bat.
