5.19.16 - Michigan State commit. Ranked No. 16 in the Illinois Class of 2016, No. 231 overall. 6-foot-1, 190-pound outfielder with an athletic, strong build and squared shoulders. One of the top athletes in the 2016 class; been clocked at 6.61 in the 60 at a previous event. On a single up the middle in his second at-bat, clocked at 4.30 on-the-turn. Took a breaking ball in his first at-bat and hit a line-drive single into the left-center field gap, 4.56 on-the-turn. Plays with energy, speed plays on the bases, wreaks havoc at times. Top of the order potential at the next level.

2.7.16 Super 60 - Michigan State recruit. 6-foot-1, 190-pound frame, athletic-strong build, developed forearms, muscular lower half. High-level athlete, ran a 6.71 laser-timed 60; game speed translates even better than that. Right-handed hitting outfielder, leadoff type, spray line-drive approach. Mechanically simple, short stride, inside-out path at times; recorded 88 mph exit velocity. Defensively moves well, clocked at 84 mph from the outfield.
7/15/15 - 5-foot-9, 125-pound, lanky build, right-handed hitter. Hits from an open stance, smooth load, went 2-for-5 with a double into left field, and tripled into right-center, 4.53 home to first on the turn.

6/23/15 - One of the premier athletes in the Midwest, the physically gifted Gleaves ran the top 60 time at the ProCase, checking in at a 6.61. His natural athleticism translates in the outfield, as he moves with fluidity and confidence to the ball, taking concise, aggressive routes. He also runs the bases exceedingly well. Physically, he is a chiseled 6-foot-1, 185 pounds with defined forearms and lower half, yet still has room for continued development. Offensively, he has a simple line-drive approach with quick hands. Once his lower half syncs up with his hands more consistently, Gleaves should acquire more power in the future. In game play, Gleaves delivered a sacrifice fly to centerfield, had a RBI single through the left side, stole a base and scored a run. Gleaves is currently uncommitted.

6/6/15 - Advanced frame, presence in the box, looks hitterish. Aggressive hitter, occasionally dives, short compact approach. Hard line drive type hitter. 4.33 runner down the line.

3.26.15 - 2-for-2 with two singles, a walk, two runs scored, and a stolen base. 6-foot-1, 185-pound, lean, athletic, fast-twitch, physically put together centerfielder/lead-off man. Hits from an open stance, singled hard in between third and short, groundball, in first at bat. Bunted in second at bat for a single with men on first and second, didn’t get out of the box like a drag (squared early) and ran 4.05 to first from right-handed batters box.
2.15.15 - 6-foot-1, 185-pound outfielder, highly athletic frame, lean strength, advanced build. Advanced athlete, excellent foot speed, 6.88 runner. Offensively hits from the right side, open stance, smooth loading action, slight leg kick stride. Path is short, slight uppercut through contact, quick hands, 78 mph exit velocity from the tee. Defensively used short quick footwork, has the foot speed to really attack the baseball and play more aggressively through it. Arm action is firm, high ¾ slot, accurate to his target at 79 mph.
6/10/14 - Currently unranked sophomore outfielder and leadoff hitter.  6-foot, 185-pound high level athlete with plus speed on the diamond.  Rita’s offensive catalyst with 48 runs scored on the year.  29-30 in stolen bases, 1-2 in this game, with bang-bang play on lefty’s first move at second that could have gone either way.  Offensively, hits from a slightly open stance getting back to square.  Didn’t see many swings, but singled up the middle hard in final at bat.  Dove into a pitch squaring around to bunt in first at bat, and sac bunt in second AB.  4.12 runner to first from right side on bunt, and stayed in box to make sure ball got down.  Leading Rita in batting average as well at .519 on the year.  High follow 2016 prospect who also started in the defensive backfield in football as a sophomore on varsity.

5/3/14 6-foot, 180-pound athlete, shows some physicality. Excellent foot speed, plus runner, showed the ability to cover ground in the outfield. Offensively hits leadoff, patient approach, good setup. Walked twice and got hit by a pitch, didn’t get to see any contact. Showed bat speed, quick twitch type athlete. High follow athlete in the Class of 2016.

4/28/14 Highly athletic 6-foot, 185-pound prospect. On a team loaded with upperclass talent, Gleaves has emerged as an impact performer. In limited at-bats (24), he is currently 15-for-15 in stolen bases and is hitting .625 with four doubles. Against Loyola, Gleaves hit leadoff for the top-ranked Mustangs. On two groundouts, he ran a 4.22 and 4.32 from the right side. Was also hit by a pitch and had a sac bunt. Overall, looks to be one of the premier athletes in Illinois’ 2016 class. High-follow prospect.
