2.15.15 - 5-foot-11, 167-pound left-handed pitcher works from a short, quick, high ¾ arm slot, toe up at balance point, loads/turns lower half over the rubber, does a good job with driving hips towards home plate, shoulders work slightly uphill, lands in line with home plate, athletic finish. Fastball sat 84-86 mph, slight arm side run. Curveball showed occasional plus, 1/7 action, features depth and late break, thrown for stirkes. 76-78 mph changeup also thrown aggressively, with plus sinking action for a high school pitcher. Denz has a diminutive frame, but possesses some of the best secondary offerings of any left-hander in the 2016 class. He’s committed to Memphis and should be one of the top high school left-handers in Illinois the next two season.
