Committed to Southeast Missouri State out of Kankakee CC (IL).
1.19.14 - 6-foot, 180-pound two way player. Athletic delivery on the mound, arm works from a high ¾ slot, loose arm action, easy effort. Fastball has slight run, showed control of the zone, pitched at 75-77 mph, touched 79 mph. Curveball has 11/5 shape, occasional slurve action. 60-63 mph. Changeup has sink, 68-71 mph. Offensively hits from a balanced stance, short stride, smooth loading action. Bat path stays flat through the zone, gets extension. 78 mph exit velocity from the tee. Defensively shuffles through the baseball, short high ¾ arm action, 77 mph arm from the outfield. Runs an 8.02 60.
2020 DRAFT: Strong 6-foot-2, 215-pound frame with present strength in build. In the last year, has moved to PO from dual role which allowed for a velocity jump from 86-90 range to 90-94 range. This fall, he scrapped the curveball and added a slider which plays better off of his fastball. Changeup has also developed into a quality secondary offering. Offseason improvements were evident this spring as the southpaw pitched 26.2 innings in the coronavirus shortened season. He struck out 36 while allowing only 7 walks going 2-1 with a 3.38 ERA. "Late bloomer" on the mound. Mostly due to split time as a two-way guy in JC. Has made some mechanical adjustments to clean up the arm path along with improved pitch design allowed for a major uptick in stuff.
