As the summer progressed, Scheuermann’s fastball continued to climb, culminating at the Midwest Classic, where the projectable right-hander’s two-seamer sat at 87-89 mph. With his 6-foot-4 size and long arm action, Scheuermann has good life on his fastball, and has also shown feel for a sharp slider with late bite. In the spring, Scheuermann was a big reason why the Pirates won the Mid-Suburban League West championship.
