Uncommitted. Currently ranked No. 52 in the state. High-waisted, projectable 6-foot-4, 205-pound frame. Got the start on the mound for Carterville. A clean, athletic mover working downhill with an athletic arm path, releasing from a high ¾ slot. His fastball sat 82-85 mph with carry through the zone, while his slider operated at 70-72 mph with feel and the ability to earn swing and miss in-zone and chase out of the zone. On a day where his control was not at its best, Lange competed and battled throughout, working through traffic and showing maturity on the mound. Line: W, 5.2 IP, 4 H, 5 BB, 3 R, 2 ER, 6 K. Lange had a loud showing with the bat as well. The right-handed hitter was all over the barrel his first two at-bats, tallying two doubles before later adding a base hit to his ledger. He has a loose, longer path through the zone with barrel control and the ability to go where he’s pitched. Finished 3-for-4 with two doubles, an RBI, and a run scored.
