At the plate, the right-handed hitter swings a strong and powerful right-handed bat with visible bat speed averaging 75.3 mph with length through the zone. Consistently drove the ball through the middle of the field throughout the round, reaching a max exit velo of 103.7 throughout his round with a peak distance of 396.7 feet. Defensively behind the plate, simple actions with a clean transfer and arm strength up to 78 mph with pop-times ranging from 1.97-2.05.

Hayden Fellows (Downers Grove South, 2024) showcased a loose, whippy right-handed swing that stays level and through the zone a long time. Fellows was consistently on the barrel and sprayed hard line-drive contact to all fields. Fellows registered a 97.2 mph peak exit velocity with an averaged bat speed of 71.6 mph. The talented junior showed equally as well behind the plate, recording a low pop time of 2.00 with a quick/clean transfer and directional footwork - reaching up to 81 mph from the chute. Strong all-around showing for the uncommitted backstop.

Hit: RHH. Balanced setup, smooth load and toe-tap stride. Loose, whippy swing, level through the zone, line-drive approach and hard line-drive contact up the middle of the field.

Arm: RH. C - 81 mph. Loose arm action, 3/4 slot. Throws plays with carry to the bag.

Arm: RH. C - 76 mph. OF - 84 mph. Long arm action, loose, plays out of a high 3/4 slot.
Defense: Showcased at both catcher and outfield. Tall, balanced setup behind the plate, athletic footwork, gains momentum to second. Fields with two hands with a long transfer from the outfield.
Run: 7.19 runner in the 60.

2/21/22

C/OF Hayden Fellows (Downers Grove South, 2024) made a positive impression in his PBR event debut. The 5-foot-10, 160-pound sophomore flashed advanced juice off the barrel, squaring his hardest hit ball up at 97.6 mph without much effort. Fellows repeated a short and compact swing, spraying line drives to all fields on a direct path to contact.
