2.19.17 - 6-foot-2, 155-pound right-handed pitcher with a thin, lanky, projectable frame. Works from an over the top arm angle with a loose, quick arm action. Tall and fall delivery with a high leg kick. Works in line with home plate, smooth rhythm with an athletic finish. Three pitch feel for strikes. Fastball has slight running action at 84-85 topping out at 86 mph. Curveball has 11-5 shape with sharp breaking action at 68-69 mph. Maintains fastball arm speed on changeup with fading action at 73-75 mph. One of the most projectable arms in the Illinois 2018 class.

10.16.16 - Highly projectable 6-foot-2, 155-pound right-handed pitcher with a thin, lanky frame. Works from a high ¾ arm angle with a loose, quick arm action. Tall and fall, online delivery with some effort. Athletic finish with good balance throughout delivery. Fastball flashed arm side running at 82-83 mph for strikes. Curveball has 11-5 shape with sharp breaking action at 66-69 mph. Maintains fastball arm speed on changeup. Changeup has arm side running with good feel at 71-73 mph for strikes.

2.16.15 - 5-foot-8, 120-pound, right-handed hitting RHP/MIF. In the field has a long arm action from a high ¾ arm slot, some accuracy, with average arm strength. Solid defensive actions with good body control.  Threw 71 mph across the infield. At the plate hits from a tall, open stance, with high hands. Short stride with good balance. Gap-to-gap, line drive hitter with a short swing path and some lift. Projects at the plate with added strength. 67 mph exit velocity from a tee. Ran the 60 at 8.24. On the mound worked from a high ¾ arm angle with regular effort. Tall and fall, online delivery with some rhythm. Straight fastball that sat 69-71 mph. Threw Curveball for strikes with 11-5 shape that sat 57-60 mph. Maintained arm speed on changeup that showed sink at 67-68 mph. Will continue to improve with maturity.

3/1/20:The Gophers top 2021 at this point looks to be the slender, long-bodied 6-foot-5, 180-pound Massey, who ran his four-seam fastball to the plate at 91-92 mph, and his two-seamer at 88-89. Coming to the plate on the same plane was a good slider in the low-80s, and he leaned heavily on this pitch during his 5.2-inning start against Duke on Saturday. He also mixed in an 80-81 mph change with good arm speed and modest fade. Massey received a no-decision in the contest after allowing three runs on five hits while striking out eight.
