Delivery: Coils into leg-lift, drop/drive lower-half, stride works in-line with the plate, shoulders level to the plate, creates hip/shoulder separation at footstrike.
Arm Action: RH. Long/loose arm swing into a high 3/4 slot.
FB: T91, 90-91 mph. Clean out of the hand with heavy running action to the arm-side. Averaged 15.7 inches of horizontal movement (T19.1). T2200, 2097 average rpm.
CB: 79-79 mph. Sharp 11/5 shape, slurvy action. Showed some feel and landed for strikes 40% of the time. T2220, 2140 average rpm.

Arm Action: RH. Low 3/4 slot. Loose arm with some upside.
FB: T88.5, 86.0-87.7 mph. Plus arm side run with below average control of movement. T2173, 1985 average rpm.
CB: 71.6-73.1 mph. Showed feel with fair bite and control. T2123, 1966 average rpm.
CH: 80-81 mph. Flashed fade. T1587, 1587 average rpm.

6-foot, 180-pound, athletically-built, right-handed pitcher with lean strength throughout and whippy levers. Got the start on the mound against a talented Naperville Central lineup and took the hard-fought loss going five innings, scattering four hits, three earned runs, walking three and striking out eight. Thompson flashed dynamic stuff at times in his outing sitting comfortably at 87-89 mph (2300+ rpm) throughout while mixing in a slurvy breaking ball at 71-73 mph. Stretch-only delivery, slightly coiled at balance point, lands square down the mound and finishes towards the first base side. Arm works loose and quick from a ¾ slot; projects for more velocity gains down the road. High-upside 2023 arm.

Thompson, emerged as a high-follow 2023 with his outing at the PBR at The Rock Championships. Thompson’s arm works extremely loose, quick and clean and the ball jumps out of his hand. Thompson struck out six batters in two innings, featuring a 85-87 mph fastball that touched 88 mph. His curveball sat 71-72 mph, flashed ability to land it for strikes, as he had a feel for both pitches and generated lots of swings and misses with both.
