11.1.16 - Verbally committed to New Mexico State.
8.19.16 - De-committed from Tulane.
4.14.16 - Tulane commit, ranked No. 41 in Illinois’ 2017 class. Large build, thicker lower half, solid and sturdy, 6-foot-3, 210-pound right-handed pitcher. First start of the season. Slightly higher front side delivery, some hip load, online and worked downhill, some effort, slower to the plate out of the stretch, arm occasionally lagged. Arm action is clean, full arm action, loose easy back side, some effort at release, high ¾ slot. Fastball is heavy with hard sinking action, gets on top and thrown with tilt, tough to elevate, worked well at the bottom of the zone when in the windup, touched 90 mph in the first, sat 87-88 mph early on, settled in at 84-86 mph the rest of the way, nine of first 15 outs were via the groundball predominantly off the fastball. Curveball sat 70-74 mph, some downer action, 11/5 plane, lacked feel, most effective when thrown ahead in two strike counts. Showed changeup in warmups, 75 mph, showed sink to arm side, would have liked to see it featured more in game action. Overall worked exclusively off of his fastball which proved to be his go to pitch, was able to pitch to groundball contact with the fastball, an effective complimentary pitch will only add to the value of his heavy fastball. Final line – 6IP, 2R, 3H, 4BB, 4K.
4.7.16 - Verbally committed to Tulane University.
10.18.15 - Large frame, 6-foot-3, 200-pound right-handed pitcher, thick build. Drop and drive type delivery, herky jerky with some deception, works online, squared landing, athletic finish. Arm action is long and quick, loose, high ¾ slot, some effort. Fastball had heavy life with tilt, occasional run to arm side, sat 88-90 mph. Showed ability to spin a curveball, some depth on 12/6 plane, occasionally sharp, ranged 71-74 mph, thrown with fastball arm speed. Straight changeup lacked action, 78-80 mph, near fastball arm action. Overall a high level prospect with big arm strength high follow 2017 arm.
1.18.15 - 6-foot-2, 220-pound strong right-handed hitting catcher hits from a crouched setup, minimal hand load, short stride, choppy rhythm, late getting down, opposite field tendencies, 69 mph exit velocity. Defensively, pop times ranged from 2.20-2.26 down to second from short, loose, over-the-top arm slot, 74 mph from the crouch. Ran an 8.22 60.
